    Hello everyone.

I feel a bit of a fraud posting on here but many years ago (over 15) I followed SW plan using my sister's books but didn't go to classes and lost 3 stone and I've kept all but half a stone off since then with that also starting to move since I reduced my alcohol units/calories.

I love cooking and am always looking for new recipes and would like to access some of those mentioned in post #2 under 'new recipes' but can't access them.

    Am I being a bit dim? :o

    Thanks
  • Good morning all, and a happy new year!

Plan for today has changed slightly:
breakfast: hifi light (half heb) with a sweet clem
    lunch: soup and salad
tea: something with chicken. I may make pies (chicken in gravy for oh, chicken and mushroom or veg for me and littlie) served with wedges and salad

    Happy New Year everyone!

Hi Pollycat. :) I can access the recipes by clicking the blue link to the recipe thread then clicking the recipe links on that thread. I'm not sure what to suggest if that doesn't work.

I'm busy using up all the 'back of cupboard' food in an effort to save money and have a good clear out. The leftover chocs and biscuits are stashed away and will be eaten in small amounts to stay within 5-15 syns each day. :D

    My plan for today is:
Breakfast: none as still full after last night's celebrations. :o
Lunch: 2 small slices WM toast (HB) with marmite
Tea: ham with lentil and carrot soup (red lentils, carrots, onions, tomatoes, so lots of veg). The ham is currently in the slowcooker and I'll make the soup later.
Snacks: lots of coffee with HA milk

I haven't been weighed since before Christmas, so I'm expecting a big gain on Thursday. :o Christmas was fabulous but included lots of lovely food, so I'll be pleased if I haven't regained everything I'd lost since starting SW a couple of months ago. Fingers crossed!!!

    Hi and thanks.

The 'new recipes' aren't listed on the blue link.
I've checked on the first post and also gone right through all 5 pages of the thread.

For example Hairy Bikers Braising steak or Homity Pie.

But I've Googled them and have now copied to my own recipe file.
And the bonus is that by looking through the thread, I've found 2 great Greek style recipes that I'll try.
So thanks to Paulie'sGirl for that. :T

Afternoon all and a Happy New Year!

Hi Pollycat - post no 2 on the last thread has working links to the recipes.

I'll keep posting my menus, more for my own benefit than anyone elses, till I get a diary.

    Today
B Bran flakes, berries, yoghurt and honey
    L Ham and salad
D Slow cooked brisket, lots of veg, mashed swede instead of potatoes for me
    Fruit for snacks
Syns for honey, LTL mayo, gravy

    Tomorrow
    B Boiled eggs and crispbreads
L Cauli and broccoli soup (or more ham salad)
D Stir fry veg with noodles

    Enjoy New Years Day

Do people not have another huge cooked meal today?

We have always done this, it is nicer that Christmas meal as there is not all the fluff around it.

Today is the first day on my 20,000 steps goal.

So far today I have walked 17,306 steps and ate a banana, tangerine with yoghurt and a little all bran sprinkled on the top, and apparently I have used 1739 calories (according to my watch).

I had a lot of slip ups over new year - but back on plan from today with the aim of reaching the weight loss challenge x

I just need to remind myself that 'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'.... well not skinny but slightly slimmer!

On another challenge - I am going to try to use the food in the cupboards/fridge/freezer up, just buying essentials and glitchy food.

The damage over the Christmas period was nowhere nearly as bad as I feared. I had a gain of 1lb which still left me with a 7lb loss over all for December which was my target when I joined the last thread.

    My plan today is

    Breakfast: none
Lunch: meatballs in tomato sauce pasta and salad
Dinner: roast chicken SW roast potatoes, veg

HEA: milk for tea and coffee
HEB: not sure yet - maybe a slice of wholemeal toast in which case I'll have a few syns for some butter.

I'd like my target loss for this thread to be 1 stone.

Hi Sunshinemummy, Happy New Year. :)

We used to have a big meal when the children were younger, but now it's just the two of us, we see the New Year in until the early hours then chill and take it easy on New Years Day, including eating 'easy' food. Our 'children' have more-or-less moved out now and they usually have to work over New Year, so they couldn't come to a family meal anyway.

I'm impressed with your walking and your healthy eating start to the day. :)

    Have a lovely day. :T

Nicki, a gain of only 1lb is amazing. Well done! :T

Happy New Year everyone! So weighed in and was expecting what I saw. I want to try and lose 10lbs by the end of the challenge. Just going to try and take each day at a time.

I've added you to the spreadsheet

I'll have a look at the intro posts. I just copy and paste them across and the links, quotes and smilies can go a bit iffy, and it was all done in a bit of a rush yesterday.
