Hi everyone.
Been to class this morning and lost 2 1/2LB
I think it might be a false reading as I've been so poorly with a chest infection that I've hardly eaten and I fully expect to gain some next week now my appetite is returning.0 -
WOW! Since I posted yesterday, 7 people have lost with a total of 18lbs between them! That's amazing.:j
Well done barley sugar, beanie, esmy, lucia, midge, MrsR and whiplashy. :T I'm so delighted for you all!:D
I should have done my food shopping this morning but can't be ar*ed as we're going out after lunch and I didn't feel like rushing. So today's food is from what we have in. It may change if I feel like shopping later.
EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage, HEA milk
L: JP with cottage cheese and beetrootHM pork burger, SW chips, stir fried veg, tomatoes
Syns: Extra porage/milk 6, syrup 2, wine syns tbc.;)
ETA: Just realised I have LO casserole for lunch that I'd forgotten about, so that's the first change.:)0 -
Well done to the losers, some good losses this week
+1LB for me
I've had to come off my anti-tnf and other meds due to an infection, and my crohn's is flaring again, so not a good week all round.
Can I take a "holiday" for next week kathrynha, hopefully things will have settled down in time for the next challenge.0 -
Hi everyone,
Newbie here and got to say I am hugely impressed with your losses!
I started sw last week and first weigh in last night lost 6lbs, very pleased with that!
If you don't mind me asking though I could do with some evening meal inspiration if you have any favourites? Nothing too taxing though I'm not a brilliant cook...I'm going to try to get some time over the weekend to read back through the thread as I've noticed a lot of you post your meal plans so that may help me as well.0 -
Esmy - I have to say I don't like the SW hummus recipe either, I find it extremely bland. I prefer to make it properly with tahini and syn it!
Welcome Greysanatomyfan (can we just call you GAF?) your name is extremely long to have to type out!
If you want a really easy meal then you can't go wrong with a bog standard roast dinner! Just substitute the oil with Frylight and cook as normal. You can even have yorkshires if you make them with water and they'll be fairly low syn as you only need to syn the flour - when I make them I use 50g of plain flour mixed with 2 eggs and then whisk with water to make a smooth batter. To work out the syns just divide 9 by however many yorkies you make (I usually make 9 small ones so 1 syn each).
Other easy meals are anything you can cook in a slow cooker (SC) so stews, curries etc.
Hope that gives you a few ideas but as you say a lot of us post our menus which will give you some ideas.
My plan for today:
B - scrambled eggs on toast; apple; satsuma
L - Thai style butternut squash soup (used the recipe from the Tom Kerridge book). DH liked it as it was but was a bit spicy for me so I added some fat free greek yoghurt which calmed it a bit (still got another 2 lots in the freezer!)
D - Cod, SW chips & peas; pickled onions; cornichons
HEA - 1% milk
HEB - bread
Syns - Light coconut milk & thai curry paste in soup 1; G&T after playing 9 holes of golf 3. Will probably have another couple this evening so should end of 10 today
Not sure I've got a third Speed over the day but don't think it's too far short with Speed in the soup, the fruit & pickled onions & cornichons with dinner!

joedenise you can definitely call me gaf!
I'll definitely try that for the yorkies, the kids love them and I think I'll just not have any but one usually falls into my mouth!
Had an early tea as I didn't want much for lunch so food for today has been,
B - porridge and blueberries
L - apple and pear
T - quorn chilli with lots of speed veg and SW paprika wedges.
If I get hungry later there's lots of fruit/yogurts.
Not sure on tomorrow's plan yet but salad needs using so that's lunch.....
Gonna try to read back a bit while the kids are relatively quiet.0 -
Geysanatomyfan. there's a recipe link on the first post on this thread to get you started. If you're feeding a family are you all eating the same? Any veggies or dietary needs? (I see you're using quorn today)0
