:T well done on the losses since I last posted. That's missteach, jay, denise and cloud!

You can use us for your group while you're having treatment jay. At least we can't pass on any bugs but we can give you all the support that a RL group can.:D

I don't actually self sabotage in a 's*d it' sort of way but I do find RL gets in the way more than I let it when I was getting to target. Then I used to make myself have things like steaks and omelettes when I went out and avoided going anywhere much midweek (I save my syns for weekends). Now I realise I have to do this long term as a way of healthy eating. Like denise says it's fine maintaining most of the time especially when you're close to the bottom of the range and a couple of pounds doesn't matter. Unfortunately when I'm hovering at the top it's like permanently being in that last few weeks to target. :(

I can see that it would be hard to suddenly have 5 syns a day snatched away MrsR. It's probably because you are used to how many treats you can have and suddenly you have to have less.:( I feel a bit like that about the way that SW has upped the syns on various items, especially bottles of wine.

Have you thought about making your own soup VALM? As I've always used my HEB for bread or cereal I've never considered tinned soup. It's easy to make a large amount and portion it up in the freezer for lunches and it means you can choose how much garlic or whatever you put in. Lush has just bought a soup maker and I use my slow cooker. I always choose Americano with hot milk (hate cold coffee) when I'm in a coffee shop and if they have skimmed milk all the better.:)

It's great starting a new week and putting 105 at the top of my food diary.:D Sorry you didn't lose more denise. It could be because of the syns but I also think it's harder when you've only got a little to lose.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: ham, fried LO veg with potato, beetroot
D: chicken casserole (carrots, onions, leeks, mushrooms, butter beans) with SW roasties, kale and cabbage
    Syns: 1 for cornflour

I do usually make my own soup. I was hungover on Sunday and couldn't be bothered! Have learnt my lesson! I'm old fashioned and use a pan. Have the little book of soups that I enjoy recipes from.

I do go for a skinny cappucino at Starbucks. Regular size as anything bigger is just full of froth. x
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • Hi everyone - back from my little absence. I'm missing out WI this week. I don't want the scales to tip me over the edge I'm all over the place at the moment and TOTM has reared its ugly head so I'm not sure the scales would make great reading!

My family member (father in law) is making massive improvement so thats one less thing to worry about. I think they are still a long way from coming home though unfortunately but he is up and about, getting grumpy and harassing the hospital staff so he's back to his old self :rotfl: There was a point where we didn't think he'd ever get off the ventilator that he was on and were all expecting the worst so we are all relieved. Just need them home now!

Not that things are any better at home .. my neighbour decided to do some garden DIY and was chopping rotten branches off a tree and one happened to come crashing down on our phone line splitting it in 2! So we have had BT engineers out twice trying unsuccessfully to reconnect the cable, on Wed we were told that our own tree branches were in the way so today we have had someone in chopping down trees and hopefully tomorrow will be BT's last visit. So while in-laws are away we are using their wifi :D

Hope to be back posting properly soon when life stops getting stressy :)

Has anyone who has reached target or is anyone getting close and is finding you're self sabotaging?

My discipline has gone out of the window and I want to eat everything I can get my hands on! It's my TOTM so I think that has something to do with it. I'm only 5.5lbs away from my target, I need to stop being silly!

We are nearly the same too target , i have 5lbs to go and want it so badly so no not being naughty but i seem too lose then gain:o

2.5 lb off for me this week

I haven't got much on this week so will be doing my best to resist temptation. I always find it so hard to avoid when people bring treats to work though!
    :T:T:T well done

Well done on your losses Kathryn, MissTeach, Cloud and all other losers and STSers.

    Commiserations to anyone who's gained.

I've been going to a group but I'm doing it by myself for the next few months (I'm trying to avoid people/infections whilst I have treatment for my recent cancer diagnosis).

Luckily my employer is being very supportive and understanding so that's one less stress.

I've weighed this morning and I'm declaring a 2lb loss. I suspect it would have been a STS at group tonight (clothes, day's food & drink etc,) but I figured I have to start somewhere and it's 2lb less than my last week's 'at group' weight. I hope that makes sense to someone! :o
:T:T:T well done and sorry for your diagnosis , take care and look after yourself xx

You'll get the support from this thread whilst you're going it alone. I can well understand you wanting to avoid infections at this time. Some people have no consideration for others when in comes to coughs, colds etc I always stay away if I'm like that.

Well done to all the losers.

I'm very disappointed to have only lost 0.5lb when I have been completely on plan all week but my consultant thinks I may have not had enough syns as I didn't use the full 105 like I usually do. That's probably because I was on the "gin" diet this week rather than the "wine" diet!!! Will stick with it again this week and try to shift the lb I need to get back into target range.

It always seems easier to keep my weight reasonably steady once I'm in target. I'm sure it's because I don't overthink things like I do when I'm trying to lose.

Tasters this morning were much better than usual and everybody actually bought FREE foods as they were supposed to. I'd planned on doing a syn free pizza with a hash brown base but when I went to get the potatoes to make the base I only had one potato left so that idea went out the window! Ended up making the hummous from the SW website. I think it's a bit bland but it seemed to go down well along with the carrot sticks I bought on the way into group.

    Today's plan:

B - tasters at group including various quiches, crabsticks, hummous & carrots and loads of different fruit. I was stuffed after, LOL!
L - jacket potato, beans & salad - didn't each much of the potatoes & beans but managed about 3/4 of the salad so at least had some Speed
D - roast pork in syn free gravy (from freezer); potatoes, brussels & peas

    HEA - milk
    HEB - Hi Fi bars
Syns - not sure but will make sure I have some this evening.

    Denise
