I seem to always wear the same sorts of things and I have lots of nice things that I should wear but keep thinking, that's for best or can only wear to work or visiting partner's family lol.

That is going to change :)

We have spent another €24 taking me €4 over budget. A little annoyed at myself but DH and I did both get new shoes which were needed. However €9 went on an outfit for DD which she really wanted but didn't need!

Will try to avoid shopping with DD in the future ;).

Hi everyone, went shopping and managed to get 2 pairs of jeans that are needed. Really pleased that I have gone down a size so now need to go through wardrobe and see what needs altering etc. (that'll be a first so its going to be trial and error!)
Been looking at old knitting patterns I have for an aran jumper/cardigan for next winter and when I have made my mind up I will have to look for some good priced wool, Ive tried the cheap stuff and it doesn't always wash and wear well so I will have to investigate.
So Ive spent altogether £36 so that's over Jan and Feb allowance so no new clothes for me until March now!! I'm sure I will manage now I have some more jeans

    Hi everyone
I haven't been out today so Ive been looking at my material stash to see if I have enough to make a top I have a pattern for, and I have yay! So when I have finished a couple of jobs for others that I'm doing at the moment I'll have a go, I usually make things for Dgc not for myself, so I'll see how it goes in a couple of weeks.

  • Hi guys,

I’m not exactly joining this challenge, but more looking for some wisdom. I probably spent about £200 on clothes last year. Unfortunately my spending diary on my phone broke down for a while so not everything recorded. This was massively cut down from the years before. I’d like to keep aiming to spend low, however, have done Kondoing and cleared a lot of my wardrobe.

I have bags of clothes destined to be charity shopped or sold and I was wondering if you knew of any great website for inspiration and guidance to alter clothes? I have a few pieces which have great fabric, like a virgin wool skirt two sizes too small, or vintage fabric dresses too big or too long. I have a very basic, cheap sewing machine and am willing to try simple alterations to help me get through the year ahead!

I have been goood :) - I got the sewing machine out today and altered the sleeves on a nice black top (from flare sleeve to ordinary), sewed some buttons on a pair of DD trousers, and had a bash at repairing the waistband closure on another pair (tricky). No spends there, and 2.5 pieces to show for it.

Also an hour spent shopping for a dress with DD, no spend there either.
  • been doing so well till today :(

Staying with a friend and they have unexpectedly put in me to go out the weekend so no appropriate clothes brought up with me. So just dashed across retail park as no charity shops near and got a full outfit in peacocks for £18.25 - but at least this was all discounted saved myself £16.25!!!
  • Can I join please? I'm feeling overwhelmed by the amount of clothes I have and feel that I'm an emotional spender when it comes to clothing. I don't want to spend anything is possible ha

  • Can I join please? I want to have a budget of £300 for the year, but this will include any clothes for my child as well. Hopefully this will stop impulse child clothing purchases!
