I would like to join, my budget is £300. My aim is to be as frugal as possible though and get maximum value. In 2017 I spent less than £150 for the whole year.
I have already spent £24.49 on four work shirts in the sale and a blazer which I used £20 of vouchers on. This is because I recently started a new job were the dress code calls for a lot of black, which I didn't have.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Good to see you on the challenge for another year, Florence J; you are number 16.
That sounds very good for what you got, and as you say, a necessary spend.0 -
Hi everyone
Went looking for tops or material to make a couple of tops in a couple of cs but couldn't see any, so I had a look in a couple of shops that had sales and bought a couple for nearly the price as the cs ones!! So pleased with that. I have been looking in my pattern stash and there are some summer tops that I would like to have a go at making so I will start looking for some material in the sales or possibly at some cs large tops that I can cut down, if I start looking now I may find some before I need to make them.
I have been sorting through my clothes and in all honesty there's not a lot I need for summer, just jeans I think but I will buy those not make them although I have a pattern for some nice cut offs. Can I just say that I have a few patterns but only made a couple of bits so I'm not experienced at sewing but I'm willing to give it a try!!!!
So here goes ....

Hi all
OK it's time to fess up - I have been on a spending spree and have over spent my £20 this month, I went a little mad in TK Maxx, however I managed to take most of it back!!!
I have spent a total of £48 which is Jan, Feb and half of March and it's only the 9th of Jan :rotfl:
I will see how it goes but I may have to up my totals a little - I'm so sorry everyone, I am hoping this confession will help me focus a little more on the challenge.

Hello. Still haven't bought anything this month but that's because payday is next week and it has been a long 4 weeks since the last one lol. I have been having No Spend Days and giving the house a good sort out to keep me occupied. Haven't started on my wardrobe yet though.
I have a bag for the charity shop and a bag of things to sell, started listing on ebay but it takes ages. I think I can make it to the end of January without spending a thing on clothes as I had some lovely pjs and tops for xmas.
Still it might be a different story when I know I have a little bit to spend haha...When life throws you a curveball, learn to catch it and throw it back! Feb Grocery Challenge/£1000 -

May I join please. I really don’t need any clothes and did aim to buy nothing this year but this may be a bit over ambitious so I have devised a plan. M&S vouchers should keep me topped up with undies. I volunteer in a CS once a month so I will pay myself £2.50 per hour to spend there =£120 a year. Christmas and birthday money doesn’t count. I think I am ok for footwear so £0. Maybe another £130 for anything I can’t resist so £250 for the year. All that clutter used to be money0

Oh well I tried. Then I went in M&S with my mum and spent £18 on sale items - T-shirts, a dress and scarf. The scarf was the most expensive item as it was yellow label (no returns) time and it cost £7.19. THEN I went in Debenhams on Friday lunchtime looking for pyjama trousers as I got some in the sale in the autumn and hoped to find the same again - and unfortunately spent slightly more. I had hoped to return a couple of things thinking they wouldn't fit, but they do. That said, with hindsight I shouldn't have pulled the labels off so quickly, as I had second thoughts so now they're going on eB*y.
So yeah, not the great start I'd hoped for but still only sale prices paid.SPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)
