Nice to hear from you again triple choc
Thanks for sound advice again Harz and gigervamp . Not sure if I'll do the Black Friday stuff . It depends on what way the land lies tomorrow regarding the attempt to tidy up the befroom ,and how I get on wiyh that. I'll sleep on it for now .
Today was an odd day .
I just about found that job place in the industrial est. I hate those places. Okay if you drive . If not, an unnecessary p i t a .,
Still I got there on time ..just . The chap I saw has a name that is the same as 2 Christian names if you know what I mean . I said on the intercom that I came to see the mans surname and got the name the wrong way around .
So, by joining today I found out a lot . It is something that is an idea of the European Union . When / if brexit happens tho, the funds are still there . Today was purely registering . All paperwork . I took my massive leather holder which contains my life story . Not needed , but it's best to be prepared for crap at anytime .
I have my first real appointment next weds, where I'll be talking to people higher up and will bring my cv as advised .
All my information is now linked up , so no need to bring anything else
When I was briefly explaining my situation , the chap could see my left eye was more tired than the right . When asked if I have a disability ,I just said "I don't know" . He put me down as disabled , but it's still a grey area .
I got paid expenses for bus fare. I'll get paid that whenever I go to job club ,and maybe job centre . I'll get paid for a suit for interview, but it will be minimal . Mr bywrite anyone?
The chap wants to shorten my Christian name, for example Tom instead of Thomas . He seems a very nice guy. Now here's something interesting ...
When my time was up, the chap came out with me and had a vape for a few mins . I think that's what they call it . Anyway , he started telling me about his life and his background . Very interesting . He also told me that this company that's now looking out for me do actually want to help me . He understands that everything has been impersonal with the treatment I've received from universal credit and that they actually care . Judging by my experience today , I agree .
I could go on , but I'll just mention my misfortune getting home ..
It was peeing down heavily and I felll over .
Having said that, I'm now home and dry and just have to chalk it down to a bad day .worse things have happened0 -

I was confused by gigervamp's post. Reread and I see there was another paragraph I missed at the end. You fell in the rain! Sorry I missed that. I hope you aren't too badly hurt...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks folks
Falling in a puddle is never good . I got up straight away , so no harm done . After a shower as soon as I got in , I'm back to normal.0 -
Today is a welcome break from everything .
I've started hoovering and tidying around and even starred on the bedroom . I've moved the large trunk that contains the bulk of the paperwork I have to go through and temporarily moved it into the hallway. Inside that are the various carrier bags I have to go through
Probably one at a time , a few hrs a week.
I was checking out the ottoman bed online and there are bargains to be had . There is a dreams shop near me so I'll probably go there
I was looking at the tv ottomans that are not cheap. Only because I have a tv/ dvd combo not used since I moved . Also a soundbar
I was thinking of maybe getting one and selling the tv on fleabay
Then again probably best get the ordinary one which is way cheaper
I had a nice live chat with a lady from Sofology regarding the sofa
She did inform me that they don't do sales..only ex demo and returns as the prices are good . I was thinking of a sofa bed, but as I already have a couple of chairbeds it's best not to .
The sales at dreams are until Tuesday , so no big deal .0 -
A C You do know Sofology is owned by D F S ? Just saying.
Oh and Dreams sale is on every week. don't be taken in by them.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -

Thanks for that Grumplestiltskin:)
Good point there . I have been doing the rounds via google , so no real differences in price from what I've seen so far . I'll keep looking carefully0 -
The trouble with ordering sofas (and beds/mattresses) online, is you can't try them out. When we bought a Laura Ashley sofabed, we'd tried the 2 seater sofa option, but they didn't have the sofabed option to try, but we went ahead and ordered it anyway. Worse buy ever! It wasn't very comfortable, and after a year or so, the seat cushions dipped in the middle. It ended up in my son's bedroom, before being taken to the tip.
And re the "sale" prices at the likes of Dreams and DFS, are really the proper price. The higher price they will have had for 28 days at one store somewhere, so they can then make out you're getting a bargain. So decide if you think it's worth the price as it is, ignoring the pretend higher price.0 -

Exactly, the price to buy, or "cost to change" in car sales parlance, is all that matters (as well as the MSE mantra of do you need it)!0
