Woke up around 4am ..with the 'usual ' pain in my legs etc plus a raging headache . Looking at the headache, I probably put it down to a lot of ginger ale I had yesterday . TBH , I have some Jack Daniels in the cupboard and maybe I should've had some of that with it .
I've probably mentioned that since moving into this flat , I haven't had a lie in . This morning I was sorely tempted to say to hell with it all , and stay in bed. Of course knowing that mr. Trainer is letting me use his gym again ,pushed me out of it . Plus the fact I have to vacuum the flat and tidy around . Ona Friday lunchtime after the gym, I normally text my friend and we meet up for a liquid lunch. Don't think I'll do it today, although the fresh air may tell me otherwise .
Just received a letter confirming my appointment for next weds .
The was strangely worded, and the date was typed incorrectly . It's not just me then
It's a welcome meeting .
Lots of rain today ...0 -
Weekend was interesting ..
Still in pain until yesterday regarding the headache . That disappeared yesterday . My friend came over on sat , an hour or so after I came back from food shopping in Poole .
He assessed my wardrobe , and there wasn't much to do there, as the outside wall that backs onto it is not damp so we decided it's best to leave it where it is .
My friend noticed the 2 orange velvet chair beds for the first time ,and couldn't really miss them . We discovered my sofa requirements and he thinks that lime green would be the perfect colour . yes , really
I have the same colour which I chose for my kitchen floor ,so it'd work
Trying to get it in leather is not so easy. I saw one on the Sofology website ,but nowhere else . If a Black Friday deal is available it's probably best to get .
We both agreed I need to give the flat a major declutter...
TBH , I think subconsciously I must have gone through a bit of a depression for some time without realising . Possibly because of the neighbours ( was considering having everything in the living room),
Possibly because of universal credit , and probably because I'm fighting a losing battle in the storage wars since being here .
I let the place become a complicated mess.
Anyway , yesterday I fitted on my calm ,practical and sensible head on for once and tackled the gas/ music room once and for all.
I took my time and managed to make the room the best it has ever been since moving in . Everything seems to fit where I should , and I actually have a clutter free room where everything is to hand for once.
So hurrah for that finally !
The front room will take 10 mins or so when I'm ready .
I bought a large can of vanish for the carpet and will apply that at some stage . Fingers crossed it improves it .
The rest of the flat is fine ..except the bedroom !
I will make a start on it sometime in the week , probably Thursday .
I just have too much stuff . What annoys me is that when I was moving I was gonna get new furniture and an ottoman bed or something smaller than the king size one that I have . Of course, listening to other people is not always the best thing to do.
My friend who normally says " save your money etc" suggested a double sized ottoman bed . It would make a difference .
I'm looking up offers for Black Friday .
The only thing is assembly . The other thing is getting rid of the old one and mattress .
Once the storage issue is sorted there , it would seem that I've finally one the battle of storage wars once and for all.
Had a punishing session with mr trainer . Playing vintage metallica helped me have a great session again and he was impressed .
He recommended that I see Mrs dr for painkillers . Not only for my well being , but for the records of the bar stewards of universal credit .
I will be seeing her Friday morning .
I have to see that job. Search thing on weds . Not sure if I should be job searching while awaiting a court appointment . I have job club tomorrow , but not sure if I'll go or not . Not sure if there's much more that can be done there .0 -
Well done on the tidying up and remember to take it in small batches so as to not wear yourself out.
Lime green sofa sounds very retro.0 -
I've recently got a lime green chair cover from Bemz for my Ikea chair! I also got covers for the sofa and the other armchair, but chose a more subdued green for them! They look great.
A king size bed seems a bit pointless if there's only one person sleeping in it, especially if the room isn't very big. A double with storage would be more sensible.0 -
Had a great sleep last night .
This morning I was in 2 minds about going to the job club .
After black coffee and marmalade and toast I decided to attend .
The plan was also to go to M&S for food shopping , and beales to have a look at the beds and sofas .
Bus was 25 mins late. I have a choice of routes to Poole , either train or two bus stops . The bus stop across the road is best , but it only runs once an hour and costs a little more .
The more frequent one is a 7/8 min walk . What with the potential downpour I chose the lazy way . I had a chat with a couple of people at the bus stop and checking my app, advised them of the delay. So I did my good deed for the day . When I got on the bus it hardly stopped at other stops along the way and I was only about 15 mins later getting to the job club.
Glad I went to the job club today . I did a slightly unorthodox search for potential jobs . I went on the gov website instead of indeed ,,and did a couple of skills tests . It's a survey done by Mori , where you just answer questions and they come back with potential jobs I could do
Of course , most were way off course . MP anybody ? Bomb disposal expert :rotfl:
From there , I went to beales . There was one bed that looked good for the price . Unfortunately it was another king size . Nothing else caught my eye . I'll see what way the land lies regarding browsing and hopefully tidying up that bedroom on Thursday all going well .
Tomorrow is the work related place I have to go to .
Friday is another session at mr trainers gym . Mustn't forget Mrs doctors appointment before that...0 -
Bomb disposal? :rotfl:
You know, you'd be better off searching online for beds first. Check out the websites for places like Bensons for Beds, etc, then you can see what's available, and go and try them out in the store.0 -
If you're tight for space AC, maybe consider a small double or 4 foot size bed with double storage drawers. Still bigger than a single so room to roll around for one!0
-
And AC, there are several independent bed retailers around Poole/Bournemouth according to Google, maybe try those as well as Bensons etc. Highgrove is a decent British made make. Beds are an important buy, so don't be seduced by so called special or Black Friday offers!0
-
Yes, shop around, but you also need to be able to try them out as you'll have to get a new mattress if you're going down a size.0

Oh that takes me back! When in 1976 my brother chose to specialise in Mine warfare in the Navy, my Dad’s only comment was: “What a waste of time, there’s not much call for bomb disposal in Bournemouth”. I must let him know there’s a job available! :rotfl:0
