Re the shower, when we have a shower, nobody can run a tap , because the pressure to the shower drops. I'm wondering if this happened to you, with someone upstairs running a tap or having their washing machine on.
With ours, when the pressure drops, the water turns cold and doesn't run as forcefully. It's really annoying, but nothing we can do about it.

    Hi gigervamp .
I have one of those mixers ,where the left tap controls the water for both bath or shower. The right tap controls the temperature and in the middle is a knob where you press down for bath and up for shower.
In my last place , I was in an upstairs maissonnette where the shower was weak and the bath was fine . Similar problem with flats I guess. I'm wondering why it is playing up now though and not before. The bath on the other hand has always had lousy hot water pressure . Sounds like what you said . Then again it could be a valve problem , or a pump maybe could be installed ..
Hope your heating is sorted tomorrow anyway

Me too! Luckily it hasn't been too bad, and with the gas fire, at least the living room is toasty, and we've only had it on the lowest setting. One of the cats has taken to laying in front of it!
  • Not feeling the greatest this morning . I have had a few nights of pain in bed and took nurofen at times . Still I had 2 tasks to do and I've just done both .
I saw mr trainer . The gym and him stank of garlic . Wasn't expecting a session in the kebab house. I think it was a one off tbh .
He has put back the interview as he seems to be catching up / busy a lot lately . Still he was impressed , so I should be too.

I've just come back from the job centre . The appointment was strangely good . I am now going to be contacted by "see tech plus"
Cutting to the chase , they will look after me for a few months .
I was advised that I could ask for things that could help with my requirements like a special chair for example . If I don't ask I don't get , so I may ( only may ) be able to ask for assistance for a computer or something . They may pay a chunk towards it . You get the picture .
It seems that a lot of people are refused this help so I'll make the most of it . Mr job coach made a list of the kind of job I would like to do, and the hours etc . So it seems the appeal process I'm going through might have some benefit . I just have to comply as always and hope that I can get somewhere in the end and get some proper stability .

    Tomorrow is job club ...
  • Hope you feel better soon x

Glad the gym went well despite all the garlic smell.

Really glad you had a positive appointment at the job centre too xx

AC - don't be afraid to take all the help/benefits that you can. You have worked most of your life so are entitled (that is the way I look at it anyway).

Don't get me started on those who have no intention of working and have claimed all their lives!

There's a lot of them around, and as they invariably knock out more kids the trend continues...
  • Thanks folks !
I've always had a fear of ending like the characters mentioned ,especially as my qualifications are nothing to write home about .

I forgot to mention , when I was talking to mr job coach my random speech stammer happened . In a way , that was great timing .

One thing to mention ( as I've done frequently ;), is that in spite of my free time , I've never had a lie in or watched daytime tv since being here. ( well, up to 10 am ) .
Bizarrely and luckily ( for my sanity), I've only seen bits of breakfast tv over the years as I've always had jobs with early starts .
    Hopefully , that's enough justification :)

It isn't about qualifications. It is about work ethic and attitude. ;)

Glad you had success today and as has already been said have no qualms as you paid enough in over the years. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

  • Strange morning .
I was going to take the train for 1 stop , and have a coffee before heading off to the job club . The trains are often delayed , and indeed they were this morning just when I wanted it . Looking at google maps ,the train was delayed but do able . When I got to station it was cancelled . So, I thought ..do I leave job club and pick up my medicine instead from the pharmacy ? Should I give the job club a miss?

In the end , I walked up the road to the bus stop . Bus got me to the job club bang on time . I got there, and a few of us were waiting outside . The main man running it , wasn't there . There is a nice lady in his absence that takes charge and is very nice and professional .
I stayed for almost 2 hrs and looked at the website that deals with the work and health programme . I browsed total jobs ,and I changed a lot of info on total jobs website .
Then I did some food shopping at M&S . Not a bad day so far .

When I got home, there was a letter regarding my court appearance
TBH it was an acknowledgement from the people in Cardiff .
I made sure to email them advising them that I wish to attend .
So that's that ,and I'm waiting to be summonsed before the court .
    Something like that :)

Yesterday , I decided to update the chap on the my aware website who has been helpful . I think it would be rude if I didn't .
He thanked me for my email and asked mr have I contacted my local m p . It was obvious that even he didn't like the way that I've been handled by universal credit .
I responded telling him of the surprisingly more positive vibes I have for the moment . It's obvious now that I did the right thing to appeal and not be bullied into a corner by universal credit .
I didn't tell him about my wishing for a hung parliament with a very long rope . It was hard to stop I must admit :p
