Thanks pmo2
No date set as yet . Probably before Christmas ..0 -
So . After being busy for a few weeks , yesterday was the chance to take my foot off the pedal and have a rest . I had a few things to do such as pick up whatever medicine is ready at the pharmacy, get a haircut ( probably more than 1 hair) and tidy up the bulky stuff in the flat . The idea, was to go to barber first which is the complete opposite direction of pharmacy and then walk to there and go home .
I did stuff partly , and in a great deal of pain . Things never worked out the way they should . Happens to everybody .
What happened was , I got to the barbers - closed till 11 am .
I then decided ' sod it ' and went for a long walk to the chemist .
Then my right leg which has been troublesome for some time , was giving me excruciating bone pain . I managed to get to the pharmacy
The most important drug is again not in stock ! I got something .
Another medicine is not there either. Still , I merrily made my way out of the pharmacy and had to walk back up the hill to my hone .
I almost stopped . I was walking like an old man of 90.
The stuff at home still has to be done .
I could be wrong , but I expect the stoppage of prednisolone a few months back is having another side effect .
When I was at my worst ,the bone pain was probably covered up by my excessive weight ( I'm approx 5 stone lighter and can walk faster when I don't get this bone pain).
It's something that has to be looked at .
Today I came back from my local shop and the pain is still there .
The tidying up is a job still not done .
I have a lot of bedding for guests and am struggling where it should go
I'm thinking maybe an ottoman perhaps? Possibly fit at the end of the bed ? I'm open to suggestions as always
What with Black Friday around the corner , it's the best time to get the last important bits I need . Just that and a new sofa .
The other thing I need to do is clean 5he carpet. Looking on tv , that vanish stuff looks like it might work . Again , I'm open to advice on this
As I'm typing this, I received a call from a chap from that welfare programme that helps sad people like myself back to employment.
(The potentially helpful group).
We had a chat, and he seems professional and won't send me to any job ' . His schedule is busy , but I'm pecillled in for the 26th..
I thought he meant December , and I wished him merry Christmas on the phone :rotfl: At least I was being polite I guess::o
No, it's for next weds. It's in branksome , and I know the road it's in .
It sounds that after the induction and my requirements discussed , then I'll be monitored every 2-4 weeks . No problem with that .
I'm open to whatever works out for all of us concerned .
What more can I say about it , except I'm now getting in the habit of meeting people and getting things done and people can't say that I'm not doing anything and having an easy time of it .
I do think I did the universal credit thing at the right time though, and if I did it sooner it would have been a mistake .
No gym today, but I'm there tomorrow . That's if I'm not feeling rough0 -
Sorry to hear about the pain. What painkillers do you have, would a stronger one help? Have a chat with your GP about it.
There was something on the radio the other day, about the shortage in some drugs. A doctor was saying one of the drugs that's in short supply, is the first antibiotic they prescribe for sepsis, and another one is a chemo drug. They also had people emailing in, saying what drugs they're unable to get. It's frightening.
An ottoman at the bottom of the bed is a good idea if you have room. You could also get those vacuum bags, put the bedding in and suck the air out, so they take up less space. It's amazing how much smaller the bedding gets, especially quilts and pillows.0 -
Hi gigervamp
You could well be right about the shortage issues.
The drug which always seems to have issues is called pyridiostigamine
Better known as bromide . Apparently it used to be given to soldiers in ww2. Sometimes it comes from Spain ,, sometimes from uk
The pain killers I have been using have been either ibruprofen or paracetamol depending on what my local Sainsbury's does .
I tend to get the own brand of whichever shop I go to .
If it gets worse , or doesn't improve I may have to see if I can get appt with Mrs doctor . I'm due to see mr specialist on 17 Dec subject to cancellation and train strike .
I'll measure for ottoman . It seems a good idea . I have stuff under the bed so I'll see what's what.0 -
AC do check with your GP about that pain in your leg. It could be your hip. I know it sounds daft but I had pain in my leg, ankle, shin and knee (all at different times) and the upshot was I needed a new hip. I never got pain in the hip!Debt free and Keeping on Track0

Perhaps cocodamol or a prescribed (stronger) painkiller would help. Speak to your GP about it.
Another option re storage, is as you're a bloke, and presumably don't have long dresses in your wardrobe, could you fit one or two shelves in the bottom half?0 -

Interesting about the wardrobe . I have a few coats , jumpers , sweatshirts etc I've put some odd bulky stuff in there .

Wow!
Thanks for that Mrs p.
I'll discuss with mr trainer and mr specialist and see what's said0 -
It is all go for you AC.
Sorry to hear about your pain. I agree it needs mentioning to the specialist/and or GP.
Re storage. I think if your room can handle a storage box at the end of a bed it is good for bedding especially if vacuum bagged first. You then have a surface for a tray for tea when visitors use the room tooIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
