I like the sound of your sisters. Wise women.
The Irish coffee made me smile. I haven't heard a reference to it in ages
Well done on putting the bad week in reverse although it sounds like a new boiler is on the cards?
Your measurements are so good AC!If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks DIA .
It looks like new boiler time , but am unsure as to when .
I will be getting an email soon with my measurements etc . from mr trainer . He gave me a short interview today and that will be on Facebook . I queried about universal credit investigating, but he says that he has mountains of my health diary and that I shouldn't worry .
Yesterday was a strange day . Better of course . Bizarrely enough I only got 3 hrs sleep .3am-6am .0 -
Sorry AC but the trainer is great for advice on weight loss and muscle mass. Ignore him when it comes to advice on UC. It isn't his area of expertise! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Happy (belated) birthday from me and Alfie. Some impressive results on the weight/inches loss there - keep up the good work.
I am currently having work done on the kitchen and feeling the pain at the moment. I am using a local, well-respected firm but I am quite disappointed to say the least. Although the quality of the work done so far is excellent (the fitter is a bit of a perfectionist but boy, can he talk!) there seems to be no organisation or communication from the owner. So the fitter has turned up a couple of days only to find the items he needs haven't been ordered/delivered so he does what he can and then goes home. I have complained to the owner but obviously I need to get the work finished so don't want to cause too many ripples. Apparently (according to the fitter) the owner is going through some personal issues and I do have some sympathy for him but I wish he would just ring me and let me know about the delays. Still, I'm sure it will all come good in the end but I wonder how he will feel if I delay paying him?
Anyway - I keep thinking I really must do something about Christmas. Over the past few years it has become more and more low-key, and actually all the more enjoyable. This year I have been inspired and already have gifts for the people I usually struggle with but the supposedly "easy" ones are proving harder this year. Alfie hasn't written his list yet so he might just get his usual treats. Hope you have a good one. Onwards and onwards for 2020 - all the best.0 -
Good point DIA . Apparently there is a setting on Facebook where I can block people from seeing stuff( not that I do anything other thank occasional browsing .
Caught up on my sleep . By this time I would be at the job club , I decided not to go as I have started tidying the flat which is more important . The living room was getting to be a mess due to the sofa situation . I have to sort out the pension issue so that I have breathing space / emergency etc.
Plus it's raining cats and dogs .
Regarding sorting out the flat : I will be getting a double bed and mattress. Obviously for the extra space , however minimal it is.
Believe it or not , one of the bulky items is a massive bag full off Ming size quilts . What I will do , is take them and any king size bedding to the animal charity shop. I may take the Qvc air bed there as well.
All that would give me lots more room and I have a feeling that the storage issues etc will be won once and for all!
No work related programme tomorrow . Not until the 29th of this month. For someone who's unemployed , I've been busy and having 2 days off in a row seems odd but welcome.0 -

Hi dreaming . Good to hear from you and Alfie
Sorry for the pain that you are going through with the kitchen .
I think myself lucky that I got james for the work I needed doing
Even then , I knew he was making excuses here and there but I thought it was best to listen and make allowances and carry on.It paid out for me in the long run . The stories I read in the other forums here and the hassle that they go through . It's a minefield out there ..Still you'll have your kitchen done one way or the other and you can put this behind you .
Speaking of Alfie : one of the things that used to please my cat when she was alive , was to put cat nip in a sock . She liked that and peeing in vases . Never liked dry cat food . Only sponge cake now and again .
I got bored of Christmas or holidays as it is now known in the '80s and cannot wait for it to finish . Bah humbug !;)
Enjoy it when it happens . Still not feeling it yet0 -
Morning AC,
Happy new sofabut boo to the delivery men, glad you got a refund there!
Happy decluttering and I hope that this week is better than the last xx0 -
Thanks pmo2
Yesterday , while doing the important things mentioned .I ended up going through the forms from Hargreaves lansdown . I phoned them on 2 different occasions to get an explanation as to how to fill one or two important parts and to make sure I understand how it all works fully . I honestly don't know many other things as complicated as pensions . Having said all of that , I filled the amount that I want to take as a cash feed lump sim . In the evening after photocopying my passport and latest bank statement , I changed my mind and decided to withdraw £8k instead of £6 k . This is because I have gone a lot into my overdraft . Then there'd the sofa and eventual bed to pay for ..then the boiler ! Universal credit may sanction me for going over the £6 k allowed in my account but I'm in a kind of emergency situation , especially regarding the boiler and going to the supermarket and my card can't pay for food . Plus of course , I have been left in the dark by all concerned as to the help I won't get . More on the subject below ..
If I have completed the form correctly and I pass go, the payment would take between 5-10 working days . So last night I made sure of hopefully getting it before Christmas .
With that all going on , I get a couple of enquiries regarding the bass guitar advertised for sale on a forum . Initially I ignored for a couple of days , but I replied last night to both who sent me a pm
One guy wants to buy it and come to me next Tuesday evening . Probably . The other guy has 20 questions which puts me off
I was gonna keep it , but I have others and am not doing anything band wise. Just playing with myself . If I do sell, I'll get a pound less than £900. In my predicament I'd probably better do it .
Now if I never asked to take out more out of my pension I probably wouldn't have any enquires.
Yesterday (and this morning ) , I phoned Hmrc about how much stamp I paid making sure my state pension isn't affected should I reach retirement in 10 years time .( previously 8 years time )
I also found an old pension from the 1980s and contacted legal and general and they will send me paperwork letting me know how little I have .
Woke up at 3am again . Had a horrible dream: I was on an airplane with someone and I was saying prayers as the plain took off as I don't like flying . It was horrible . I woke up ropey and unwell eventually
This morning I went to Poole to check the balance of my bank accts
Okay , just . I should make it over Xmas if I don't get pension payment in time . It reminds me of the old lady in the queue at the cashpoints and she asked someone to check her balance . The guy pushed her over. Sorry
I picked the right time to go to Poole today , as the cats and dogs have returned .
I had to send an email to the managing agents , due to the communal door being left open a lot more . Sometimes twice a day . I'm freezing then , and they are too dopey to realise . They don't care about the sign I put on the door .
I still haven't had time to pickup the pain killers from the chemist
It would be nice if they also had the other stuff which I should have had 3 weeks ago
I'll get whatever there is tomorrow ...0 -
That last post was a bit long .
Anyway , today has been a bit of a disappointing day . Mainly due to feeling below par and not being able to get out today .
Going to the chemist in the downpour was not an option .
I spent the day trying to find out about possible boiler grant again .
Must be an age thing , as it took up a lot of time .
The boiler insurance co won't send me a certificate to condemn it.
Long story , but in a nutshell if the boiler is still breathing I won't get help from boiler schemes .
I should have someone purchasing one of my basses from me tomorrow . I just sent an email to ask if he's paying cash . I hate asking but it's a must if I'm getting £900
Roll on tomorrow0 -
