Nice to hear from you again AC. I love reading of all your adventures. As others have said 5 stone is an absolutely fantastic weight loss and you have done it with exercise as well, so the proper way so to speak!
I mentioned I was on the list for a hip replacement - it happened just over 6 weeks ago, recovery is very tough, but I will get there. Am pleased that I can now walk unaided for several steps so that will only get better.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Thanks everyone
I remember the red bus rover well . Also the riverboat form London Bridge ( I think ) to Westminster Bridge . Fun times .
I'll bear the travelling suggestions in mind , but I don't want to go off the rails financially or otherwise . The world is a more dangerous and uncertain place these days . Something to ponder sometime .
Glad your hip operation went well Mrs. P .
Slowly does it . You'll ge there .
Harz, I have had wisdom teeth removed in the past . Definitely not something to look forward to .
Today I saw MT trainer . All good as usual . Having said that , I was very stiff and tired afterwards . Fair enough. I couldn't rest too long as I had to go to Poole hsp for my consultation ,as you know .
Well, I had to have an x ray first . Then a few mins later I saw the specialist . What will happen is , I will have half of a tooth removed ( top half ) as the specialist is trying to avoid the nerve area. It'll involve cutting into the gum . If this works then , I will of course be in terrible agony for sometime after and the job is done . However, if I still have problems after that , then I will have to have part two which will be awful. We'll see.
What I will say about today , the X-ray and consultation was very fast
So, I wasn't too down in the mouth ..0 -
Ugh, that sounds awful. When will that happen?0

Well, whenever it is, good luck. Hope you're not in pain for too long.0

on the subject of the losing 3st.
do some research on "keto", it can be used long term, but its restrictive, however i used it last year to shift 6st, then i stopped and put a bit back on, but a good 4.5st net overall.0 -
Thanks DB 2016 . I'll look into it . Seeing as I'm allergic to most proper foods, then it may be a challenge too far . We'll see..
So, a few bits and pieces to mention :
James has been the invisible man for a few weeks . That's builders for you though. I'm waiting for him to hopefully fix the extractor fan in the kitchen which has been broken for a couple of months now .
However, last Friday I had an annoying thing happen to my bathroom sink tap . For some reason water was going everywhere when I went to wash my hands . Then I saw what the reason was..there was a screw underneath the tap for some reason ( with a tiny black washer)and that feel into the plug hole . Pita:mad:
How / why the hell is there a screw there ? It's one of those square 'waterfall ' type taps . When I moved in and got things done , I wanted to get everything once and something that will last . Oh well, janes has managed to get a replacement and will fit that in ,in a few days . Fair enough. In the meantime , I have to make sure I don't turn tap on fully , and if I do then put finger on hole where screw should be .
Believe it or not , the hot water pressure has been crap for a couple of days . Not sure if it's related to the above saga . I had to give Reactive (the people who service my boiler ). They said it's best to adjust the taps ( small handles under the boiler ) and that should increase boiler pressure . Easily said , when the guy who last serviced the boiler made the knobs too tight to turn . I may see if James can do us a favour . I've reset the boiler a couple of times and hopefully it seems okay ..for now . 2's and threes a I guess ..
I've finally won the storage war in the bedroom . I got a cheap underbed storage bag from John Lewis and it fits all of my shoes .
I'm able to walk around my king size bed to the wardrobe and window without tap dancing over clutter on the floor .
I gave a box of my old 7" singles to the local waggy tails charity .
I gave them a couple of mirrors that I had for over 20 years ,making space and doing my bit for the animals . I'll probably give them a guitar stand soon .
My sisters are coming down to visit on Saturday for a few days .
It'll be interesting what they make of the chair beds. Also the water issues . There is a train strike on south worsen railways also. Wow! What a surprise .
Nice day today. Just had a nice walk to Lilliput. Still have some jobs to do later .
Hope you're all having a good day .0 -
It was supposed to be nice here today, but it's been overcast all day. I love Wales, but the weather really gets me down, expecially when the rest of the UK is basking in sunshine, and it's thick cloud here. Really makes me want to move back down south.
Can't you replace the screw and washer? Washers and screws cost pennies, how much is James going to cost?
Do you have bedding for the chair beds? I presume they make up into singles?0 -
Hi gigervamp . I looked online for screw and washer, but couldn't find any . As James is doing the extractor , hopefully ( fingers crossed ) both jobs won't cost the earth .
The beds are made into singles . I have various bedding , and will look into it . It may mean a trip to home sense , and get something quickly
I saw somewhere that if a bed is single , then get double size , for double get king size etc
Sorry that it's grim where you are gigervamp . Hopefully not for long .0 -
Well done on letting your 7 inch collection go.
Lovely that your sisters are staying over. Good weather expected so you should all have a nice time.
I hope James gets the repairs sorted. You are a very good customer for him so I hope he does you a few favours on the smaller jobs.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
