Is it new and boxed form a charity shop??

I don't buy the old lady and crap second hand stuff. I would be insulted and tell my mum so. I would rather something useful for a few pounds............and I mean new!

I don't get the thought bit............as there is no thought other than to give me rubbish. Maybe an indication of how little I am or would be thought of!

My Partner's brother didn't even put my name in the Xmas cards let alone buy me a gift.

We bought for him, his partner and child. We wrote cards for them and their daughter separately. We saw them all xmas eve.

I would never have expected a gift (ever) from them as they never have, even though we always do.

But I took great offence to them not even acknowledging me in the xmas card. I thought I was being silly but its stuck and I couldnt shake it off.

My friend has an allergy to nuts.
I bought her a lip balm from abroad (India) that had almond oil in it. She gave it back to me saying she couldn't use it.
I really hadn't thought about it to that extent but I'm very aware now of ingredients.

So what does your partner think about it?
Are there issues between you and your partner's family?
Personally, I'd not buy gifts for them again.

no issues at all. Not that we were aware of anyway. Everyone else is very inclusive of partners. He wasn't overly impressed. Two can definately play that game I agree. But for now its best to be the "bigger person" so they say. Depending on what happens next year will influence what we do going forward.

For now, despite being offended by their rudeness, I have more important things to worry about :)

Why don't you use the 'quote' function when you quote other people's posts?

    I know it's different.
And would never buy something like that.
Or even open a packet of peanuts anywhere near her.
Knowing someone has an allergy (or even a dislike of something) and giving them a gift of that is thoughtless.

    Really?

Do you know how to use the 'Thanks' button?
The 'Quote' button is right next to it.
    Click on it.

There's also a 'multi-quote' button if you wan to quote more than 1 post - but I don't want to overwhelm you with new information. ;)
