Morning all,
Odd start to the day. DS got up at 5.30 (standard) but got into bed with us and promptly fell back to sleep until 8.30! DD was still in bed too (she did 13 hours last night!) so I actually feel well rested!
DH still has the lurgy and has accepted he's not going out tonight. He has just taken the dog to the vets to have her anal glands emptied, poor thing suffers badly with them, I did watch various YouTube tutorials to teach myself how to do it but squirted it into my hair and was sickso vowed never again. Sorry TMI!:rotfl:
Beef is in slow cooker for adult dinner, spaghetti bolognese bubbling away for kiddies. It's snowing heavily so no plans to go anywhere.
I must pay for DD swimming lessons online, pay DH tax bill and write a letter to close the Very account we have - too much temptation.
Have lovely days all xxMFW

Heavy snow now. Roads being closed. Have rung council AGAIN to complain about neighbours whose front garden is adorned with rubbish. Bins were taken but they made no attempt to bag/stack this lot, some of which has been there ages.
Valli, do you live on the other side of my neighbours? The Steptoes?
Raining again now. The toothbrush pots are clean but I scratched the sink doing them. Scratches can only be seen when I've got my glasses on.
About to go round house and clean shelves and everything on them. It won't all get done. DH is a hoarder and there are thousands of items.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Snowing heavily here. DS1 and I have had an argument because I have suggested that going out in the car in current weather conditions (road is white over) when he doesnt have to is not a good idea. Oh and he wants to go and visit his friend who lives on the moors. I know he wants to drive in the snow but he doesnt see the danger.
However, DS2s girlfriend is coming here and we are supposed to be taking her to grandparents later .. not sure if that is still the plan. Really dont like driving in it!
3.5 hours paid stuff done. Still in my jim jams. Off to get dressed now and avoid grumpy DS.0 -
Sleet now.
I decided to start on the shelf unit in the bathroom as it is officially bathroom day. Got distracted by the face mask, so put some of that on, but only enough left for top half of my face, so then did facial hair removal cream on bottom half. Threw out some items, had a clean then emptied the bin and decided to sort some recycling too. Then got distracted by post arriving.
Just having an early lunch and drink. Will then quickly put hoover round and then nothing as DH will be home.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Moving very slowly today. No snow overnight but cold.
Had a shower .
Made a list.
Cleaned washbasin. Decuttered old wash bag as got one for Xmas.
Worked out what clothes I left at mum's; irritating as we won't be going there again before hols in Feb.
FBO sorry about your visa, hope you can get something sorted. That's our top of the list item, Mr N just setting up lights and camera so we can apply for visas.
Better keep on with actually doing something.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Bathrooms done. I'm still not exactly sure why it has taken me all morning to do something that I usually fit in before work though...
Wet washing to hang up, the floors WILL get mopped at some point today.
Torrential rain and freezing cold outside. I'm glad that I have no plans to go anywhere today, but keep safe vibes to those who have to.0 -

It's a council property; the lady who lived there before was fine, these are just scummy. All bins are stored on the front, almost always overflowing (which is why it's an issue)/, along with 'side' rubbish. On occasion bags have been torn open and contents strewn all over; I KNOW we have foxes; I have seen them. I have also had dead vermin - mice and rats, dumped on the garden by the cats. I have phoned at least once a month to complain. I am also aware that other neighbours are disgusted; I have heard comments but whether they bother to complain I don't know. They also have a GSD they stick on a lead to use the front lawn which I don't think they then pick up. But there is a back garden...
If I was in an adjacent property I would be livid.
I am in the process of 'bottoming' DS's room. I am now only in a t-shirt and jeans, having discarded my jumper, as I have warmed myself up energetically rubbing and scrubbing. I am also running the WM and TD in an attempt to make the dirty laundry fir into the laundry basket.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I *believe* you are subject to Parkinson's Law - work expands to fill the time available in which to do it.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Valli, it's nothing to do with it being a council house. We rent, but take pride in ours. Some people are just scummy. Ours had the fifth skip in as many weeks taken away yesterday, there is still rubbish strewn in the street from the windy conditions. I've picked some of it up whilst swearing under my breath. Goodness knows what the inside of their house must be like.
Just waiting for DH to come home now. WM is on with the back door rug as Poppet decided to piddle on it rather than go out in the cold.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
I know that; round here it's a mix. The lady who lived there before was lovely, never an issue. But at least I can complain to the council and they have some clout - or should have.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
