Only Flying has been Mr LW vacuuming the lounge and kitchen to get rid of dog biscuit crumbs while I was out with Ronnie (he dislikes the vacuum - Ronnie that is, not Mr LW).
However, the decision has been made to kick my former audiology and optician service providers into touch as I am sick of their attitude that they are doing me a big favour by providing me very costly hearing and sight equipment. Audiology appointment duly made with an alternative provider. Optician appointments will be made with the same new provider for both myself and Mr LW as they fall due (mine is, I think, September, not sure about him).
All this has come to a head because my hearing aid packed up a couple of months ago, and they couldn't have cared less - no emergency appointment to see about a new one (I know it'll have to be new as this one is quite a few years old) and they didn't even bother to tell me the audiologist I've been seeing for years has left. :mad:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I think that may be wishful thinking, sadly.
Morning ladies! Have been coughing all night. My Dad appears to have left me his lurgy, which is fabulous  and curiously the lounge TV turned itself on twice in the night  so I had to get up and deal with that. And, rather helpfully, our new super-duper hi-tech, all singing and all dancing home security system sent me a text to advise unusual activity in the lounge too, which meant I was completely awake when I got back to bed....grrr.....
I'm slowly emptying the caravan of a year's worth of clutter and rehoming it back in the house. I have five hundred and eleven items to iron and an entire bookshelf to sort. Skids go back down south today until 30th, which is also when friends arrive for a few days, and so it all begins again....
Looks like no rest for the wicked.
After attempting haggis, neeps and tatties (I suspect he waved the butter and milk at the spuds from across the kitchen and told the poor vegetables that they didn't love them anymore  - and he didn't peel the spuds so the leftovers are too lumpy for making farls ), and providing me with three cups of tea in short succession as it's pretty difficult to eat without any sauce or gravy when you've cooked the beastie for so long without the addition of any water to steam it :wall: - he announced that he was off upstairs to tidy up some of the gibble in the spare room/studio.
I tactfully (go, me!) asked if there was much to do in the kitchen in such a way that it could be taken as my asking what I could do to assist his Manly Man Being In Charge of the Kitchen Self. 'Not much, I've done half the washing up', so I went out there expecting carnage as has been there every time I've set foot in there.
OK, leftovers are sat in pots on the hob, but that's not the end of the world. But the sides were clear of bits of peel, no massive splashes of cooking water/veg splatters, there were only five things to wash up and there's the stuff to put away once it's air dried. But it's pretty good, IMO - not worse than where I left it yesterday, at any rate.
I shall keep my own consul about the fact he very obviously shaved in the bath this morning, as that'll take a couple of minutes to deal with, compared to shaving over the sink [floor, windowsill, cistern, toilet seat, floor...] as he usually does.
Planned activities for tomorrow involve vacuuming stairs and landing, clearing out the fridge and cleaning it properly and hopefully getting him to scrub the kitchen floor whilst I deal with the bathroom floors, as it looks as though the flooring in the wet room is discolouring; whether it's natural, lateral thinking cat caught short related or due to the shower hose beginning to rust, I'm not entirely certain.
This place will get clean. It will.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Wish my dad would follow suit - paid a fortune for hearing aids in the summer and Dad now has problems hearing again - he has been back and they "tested2 them and said there was nothing wrong grrrr
Good for me LW x0 -
With the aid of half a fruit loaf and several pieces of chocolate to boost my energy levels, I have finally completed and submitted both the Gift Aid claims that have been on my Toots list for months
I have also made phonecalls to all my DC and sorted out who is bringing what contributions towards the celebratory family feast on Sunday. DH has done some shopping and we will only need a couple more bits on Saturday. And Rosie got her hour's run early this afternoon while the sun was still shining :T
Tomorrow's list:
- strip our bed
- collect towels
- WMx4
- sort knitting which is strewn over the spare bed
- make up spare double bed
- finish wrapping Christmas presents (cluttering the study bedroom)
- declutter study bedroom
- declutter Rosie's old bones before DGS4 (aged 2) takes a liking to them
- tidy our bedroom (mainly the contents of DH's pockets, so they will go in a box for him to sort)
- clean bathroom
- clean ensuite
- clean workmen's loo
- wipe down kitchen cupboard doors and handles
- dust everywhere (LR and DR are still tidy)
- ask DH to hoover everywhere
- walk Rosie
- re-make our bed
Will leave it until Saturday to
- make up beds for DGS1+2
- S&S bathroom again
- S&S kitchen
- replace cut flowers as necessary
- cook gammon
- make raspberry meringue roulade
- make gooey chocolate log
- make crumble topping
- make soup
Looks like I'm going to be busy! I haven't been feeling well all week, with all sorts of aches and pains, especially at night, but I have been better since lunchtime today, so hope I will have plenty of energy by Saturday evening to deal with the descending hordes

Morning everyone.
Ionafan, your list is so long. I don't have one today.
Yesterday was wiped out by a migraine in the afternoon so the second Xmas dinner will be today and no flying got done.
Because I slept most of yesterday, I am up early today.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
Picked DS up at midnight (minus 4 outside!) and he wanted to chat so late to bed but wide awake now and raring to go. It is just starting to snow.
Some paid stuff now (but without leaving home so working in jim jams with mad bed hair). Fridge flinging later and could really do to get the hoover out. Gathered up some washing last night and put that in so that can go over the airer later.0 -
Back awake. Attempting to urge self out of bed to make a cuppa but bed warm..Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson
