todays step count is 11 690 have been sat in a car for 3 hours.

That is good for a 3 hour car journey day.

I'm 23,233 - hoping to make it to 24,000 before bedtime.... running up and down the stairs etc.
People are off to a really good start I see, I only got my pedometer on Sunday and having never used one before and didn't really have time to figure it all out before I set it up and started walking.

Anyway on the 1st I only had time for a brisk circuit of my nearest park then stupidly took the thing off and forgot to put it back on again AND forgot to check it at bedtime before it reset itself for the next day I did do 2980 steps before I took it off so I will claim 1 mile for day 1 = lesson learned.

Day 2 - better but still got lessons to learn - I keep forgetting to note miles down after doing particular walks (post-it notes and pen are now in my handbag and car) but I'm happy to say the I did remember to write down todays totals before I let it shut down for the evening = 9008 steps = 3.55mls

Well done that is a massive increase on you daily rate :T:T:T:T

i shall start this tomorrow. day job is sitting on backside mainly but it tends to be later in the day shifts so there is no reason for me not to go out walking before

I have a terribly sedentary job.... I only ever walk to the loo... someone even brings me my coffee!

New Year’s Day earned no miles as I spent it driving home from a house party. I did manage to clock 4,000 steps dancing between midnight and when I went to bed.
I got the dogs back out of pokey and did 3 miles with them today - will only make 9000 steps though. Back to work tomorrow so I can work out my new routine then. It is a very sedentary job so I need to come up with a plan.

How on earth do you manage so many steps then?

I get up at 5.15 to get a 45 minute walk in, half an hour at lunchtime, then half an hour + at night, which gets me in the region of 15000 at the end of the day. I only have three hours free in a day in which to walk, feed me, feed the dogs, do some housework and shower...and hopefully sit down and chill before going to bed.

    16000 steps on Monday
15610 yesterday - would have done more but my colleague was on holiday and I couldnt get out during the day.

It has been hard as I am used to doing 10-12 thousand a day but:-

New years day - no work
Yesterday - worked from home... but really did nothing.
Today - I need to get my bottom actually working as I am behind.. but I will do a 1.5 hour walk tonight. OH comes with me which is nice as he talks whilst walking... whilst in contrast I pant!

A, I do around 1.5 hours, but it only counts as 10,000.

Lola the dog doesn't talk much, too many sniffs to sniff!
  • My first 'normal' day after all the jollifications, and already (12 noon) I've done 6,000 steps and 49 floors. Feeling smug.

I'm beginning to realised what I need to do to try and at least reach a daily target of between 2 & 3mls. I have one route sorted but I now need to consider several others because I know boredom is my enemy.

So todays total = 8002 steps, 3.15mls - happy with that, but I'm still playing catch-up for my 1st day errors.
