Hate is too strong a word but I dislike a lot, these sort of threads. It's too subjective.
I like soft floral easy smells my mum on the other hand likes heavy deep perfume.
Without coming across rude, surely you have some inkling. Or if not don't get perfumeLife is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0 -
I'd love perfume as a gift. id wrote down the names of the ones she has then google them and see what they have in common. All floral, fresh etc similar top notes? Then find another that fits in with them0

Agree with rummaging through your partners drawers.
Anything low/near empty, replace.
Also make up bag, choose a primer, foundation, mascara that she already owns, and trot off to Boots. Take a picture of the bags contents and show the assistants on the counter.
Or book an appointment for a make up consultation with a gift voucher to buy any bits she likes:cool:If you want to do something, you will find a way.If you don't, then you will find an excuse...:cool:0 -
Can you sneak a look at the bottles shes using, are there any half (or less than) empty bottles that would give you an idea which she likes.0

Perfume is such a personal choice, its a gift I steer well clear of unless I know what someone wears / likes.0

I love Jo Malone too. I gave myself a spray of grapefruit earlier when I was in town.
DH and I don't do gifts but I'm sooo tempted to treat myself.;)0 -
Well I must be an unusual female because I smelled some cologne onone of our male friends and asked what it was because I really liked it. It was Dolce & Gabana Sport for Men. So I treated myself to some and that's the one I prefer to wear!0

I wear quite a few perfumes aimed at men, have done for years. :T0 -
I love getting perfume, but then I am happy with many different type of scents to tend to like much more perfumes than I dislike.
To be honest, you could spend a lot of money and she doesn't like it.
Why not buy a posh set rather than just one fragrance ie. Lancome do 5 miniatures for £29 on their website at the moment.
Agree with the Chloe and Daisy suggestions already though, they are both lovely. Philosophy scents are delicate and are popular too.0
