I don't think paying the line rental in advance actually locks the price in. However they increased the broadband cost and some call charges, which isn't paid up front.
I have no idea why they would increase the price of anyone in their tie in period, because it lets you leave early.0 -
I think I can do that but where do I send the image to?0

After hosting the image post up the link to the hosting site (disguise the link eg by posting "hxxp" instead of "http")0

As a new user I was not allowed to post a link. This is most of the address. Hopefully you can work out the rest.

So I guess you will be looking for a new deal!! Not sure how its going to work for you, because potentially you could have missed a good deal that might have been available, but isn't now!!
Good effort on the letter anyway, a new skill!0 -
I recently complained about BT to the ombudsman.
I had not received emails from BT saying the prices were rising, they said I had. So it seems I consented to paying more in absence. My contract would have cost me £300 to get out of according to BT.
BT customer service told me it was useless to complaint to the ombudsman. I received a deadlock letter, it told me again the futility of complaining, I would be wasting everyone's time.
I felt defeated, I complained anyway, I had not got any communications advising me that I would be paying more.
following my complaint, the contract has been cancelled free of charge , BT is still my provider but I am free to make choices now without penalty and I can now look for better deals. I haven't started looking yet, I have lost some confidence in providers, they all seem dodgy.
I know some of you also have the same complaint about not being informed and being unable to do anything because of the 30 day rule. Do complain to the ombudsman, absence of response shouldn't mean consent.0
