My 18 mth broadband package ends next month, was paying £28.50, for unlimited broadband, anytime calls and caller display, This also comprised of TV Essential and a BT Mobile monthly sim (£6 + £5) and discount of £1.75 Caller Display.
so in effect I was getting a £12 reduction on Broadband and Calls.
just done a deal where I get Package of Fibre Infinity and all the above for £30.50 so reduction of £11
i was promised that as I was entering into this new deal that the £2 increase in January would not affect my price of £30.50.
We'll see as my old package did indeed increase over my contract of the last 18months, by £4 per month so it will be interesting to see what happens in January.
Then of course no doubt the annual Line Rental Increase.
Will be paying £9.99p p&p for new SmartHub.
I'm quite happy with this especially since I've been thinking of upgrading to fibre for a while.0 -
I phoned today to say I'm giving notice to leave due to the price rise, they offered me a 18 month contract on my current rate £29 for fibre.
I said I'm looking at £25 from Plusnet on a 12 month contract.
They said they will take that as my 30 days notice from today and recommended i find a new supplier in 14 days then that gives a further 14 days for the change over.
Does anyone think Plusnet/Sky will have boxing Day sales on ?0 -
Got the email 29-11-17, immediately called BT to cancel. I previously had haggled an out-of-contract deal in October along with paying up front for Line Rental Saver. Changing the deal is not on, in my book.
I told the CS guy I was cancelling due to the price rise, didn't offer me another deal. Got another email, stating Line Rental Saver would not be refunded, unless I was leaving due to price rise.
Got another email today with my final bill of 6p. Email states no refund of Line Rental Saver at all.
Looks like I have a battle on my hands to get my money back. :mad:100% debt free

I got pretty much the same 'eff off' deal from them. Basically I could lock my current deal of £28.99 per month without the price rise , for 18 months. I refused as they didnt include my current free add on of BT Sports package which is very useful to have.
Unless theres any 'boxing day' deals on I'll probably take the hit of the £2.50 a month price rise, and look elsewhere when my contract is up for renewal in August.
BT are total !!!!!! as far as retentions deals goes ....
Sky router is crap. Plusnet is good, but getting hold of their customer services can take ages, although I'd happily move to them if i got a cheaper deal. BT Sport is nice to have but not a deal breaker.0 -
It is wearing isn't it?
Just get one lot of negotiating out of the way, then next it will be car insurance, house insurance,
travel insurance, and gas/electric etc, etc.
don't know why it's going to take nearly 3 weeks to activate my Fibre though, thought it was just a switch?0 -
I think the fact they are offering to match people's deals from last year is an improvement. My renewal isn't as cheap as some, but I'm happy enough with it and got a better mobile deal too when phoning. There is even the option of getting a renewal offer via the website so you don't have to phone if you'd rather not haggle but still get some kind of offer.0

They are well versed over this matter.
If you hit a problem raise a formal complaint and you should get it resolved - assuming you made it clear you were leaving because of the price increase and did so within the allowed time frame0 -

You could always go back to BT via new customer incentives when Plunet announce price rises sometime during 2018

Whilst Quidco are currently offering higher cashback on Fibre 38mb monthly cost is higher than offer via TCB0 -
Do people find 38mbs on plus net good enough for Netflix and amazon streaming through smart TV?0
