So what I actually did today was
- WM/TDx2
- sent various emails
- ordered Christmas presents for DS1 and family
- scanned notes for our fellow-student who missed the recent weekend course
- took Rosie out for an hour, remembering to take my phone/camera
- rang the kennels about dropping Rosie off tomorrow afternoon rather than first thing in the morning, to allow the roads to clear
- SW weigh-in - a 20 min walk each way - went at 12.30 so that I could combine it with visit to hairdresser at 1.00 and also picked up my prescription next door
- cleared snow and ice for about 1.5 hours so that I can get my car out tomorrow; left DH's snowed in, as he said he wasn't going out
- took Rosie out again for another 20 min walk: signs of a thaw just beginning (since then it has thawed rapidly but may re-freeze later tonight)
- had a long conversation with DS2 and DDiL2 about christmas Day arrangements
- cooked tea
- cleared an teeny-weeny bit more of my RoD
- slept in front of the TV for 2 hours
DH did manage to walk to SW and back this morning and hoover all through this afternoon
Tomorrow I *must*
- do Gift Aid claims
- clean the bathroom
- take Rosie for a walk, but it will be muddy and horrid, not sparkly white and crunchy
- pack a parcel
- write our Christmas letter (will probably be mainly photos) and at least a couple of cards
- pack Rosie's bag and take her to kennels
- go with DH to DGD1+2's school play
- pack our overnight bags
It's doable, but I shall need to keep focused...0 -
Morning flyfriends - the great thaw has started here...boo...
It does means, however, that the pipes are no longer frozen and I have washed my hair :T. Isn't it amazing how much better than can make you feel?
Yesterday was rather odd, but Tiny had a stellar performance as the Singing Donkey at preschool with an added bonus of a very cute rendition of Twinkle Twinkle with his mate the Inn Keeper and bestie the [STRIKE]Shouting[/STRIKE] Singing Sheep. DH recorded most of the show and we watched it again later. Small plays Herod in his play this evening. He's loosely modelling his character on The Hooded Claw off Whacky Races, so should interesting. I'm told he gets boo'd off the stage during rehersals, which he is delighted about :rotfl:
Lots of tidying up and painting to be done today as both boys back at school, so having a cuppa first then cracking on.
Big hugs Valli - grief can and will strike at any time, without warning. Slowly, very slowly, it mellows into fond remembrance, which helps to soften the loss. It will come, I promise x
I'm missing Bossy too! Hope she's OK x
Sorry to hear that your windows and doors aren't great Lynne and that the redecorating is second-rate too. It seems a lot of trades are loosing skilled people who take pride in their work. When you find someone who does, they're always booked up weeks in advance!
Iona, please sit down....your lists make me tired lol. Ooh, I posted my Secret Santa pressie yesterday - hope it makes it through the snow!
Welcome to the New Flylady :hello: whose name my sieve of a brain has forgotten. Chunters off to read back... Dreamywing...hello!
Catch up later xxx0 -
Morning all - love that everyone is cracking on
Had a special collection by local council today, so cleared broken chairs, unit and wardrobe have finally gone - downstairs is starting to look 10x bigger!!!
Stairs half painted - now on the tricky part (we have the solid wood type stairs) so i imagine gonna be lots of white hands by bedtime
List is getting bigger and biggger but have already ticked a few bits off....
1. dye hair (goodbye grey roots)
2. Special collection put out
3. Rubbish, recycling out
4. Box of books, ornaments ready for charity shop when dropping DD off to station at 11
5. Letter written to GP (to be delivered at 11am)
6. PPI letter signed (to be posted at 11am)
7. Laundry ironed and upstairs on bed ready to be put away
phew .... having cuppa before I go and finish yesterday's bedroom list and clean bannister ready for painting
Have fab days everyone x0 -
Most of the washing has been folded and put away, just three duvet covers draped over the backs of chairs to finish drying the seams. Christmas cards all written bar one which I'll need to buy and today I'll finish indexing my spiral books so I don't have to waste any more time looking for information.
Devil Cat all dosed up for the morning and filmed while he was doing something rude to his favourite sheepskin girlfriend for posterity. I had to stop because the battery was running low. Amazing little chap, he just determined to keep going despite everything. Kelpie's off to hydrotherapy in 10 mins.
The plumber and I keep missing each other. I need him to come and fix a pipe that's leaking verdigris over a new carpet. Grr.
Must dsyon ground floor. Kelpie's moulting all over it.Better is good enough.0 -
Good morning ladies,
My first day home alone for what feels like aaaagggesss (ok, since last Wednesday!), so I'm just having a cuppa and a slice of toast with lots of butter to celebrate! Sad, but true.
I have taken DD and her many bags to school this morning, with the only difficult bit being getting out of the village, and the bushes that are hanging over the road with the snow. Apparently I am the only driver who a) sees them and b) slows down to go past / wait for a nanosecond until other cars have gone past.
DH has gone to work until lunchtime, revelling in the fact that it apparently true that man flu exists, and that it is because men work too hard providing for the family.....I gave him my list, asked him what was for dinner, and he decided that work was a better option:rotfl:
I have until lunchtime to get through some of the lists, then it is off to get my haircut and go to Mr M for provisions....something else man-the-hunter was unable to fit into his busy schedule!
ETA - Dizzy, your school play must have been a blast. Let's hope Herod carries on the family tradition:D0 -
Today I *must*
- do Gift Aid claims
[STRIKE]- clean the bathroom [/STRIKE]
- take Rosie for a walk, but it will be muddy and horrid, not sparkly white and crunchy
- pack a present
- post 2 parcels
- pay in a cheque
- write our Christmas letter (will probably be mainly photos) and at least a couple of cards
- pack Rosie's bag and take her to kennels
- go with DH to DGD1+2's school play
- pack our overnight bags
Well, it might have been doable if I hadn't spent about an hour clearing some of the piles of papers in the RoD in an attempt to find what I needed to start the claims, and another hour trying to work out how to pay a cheque into our charity's account at the post office  In the end I phoned the bank's customer services:the very helpful young lady said "We've just changed our system" and helped me sort out the correct stationery - in the end it took me about half a minute to fill in the correct type of form and stuff it in the correct type of envelope with the chequeIt's doable, but I shall need to keep focused...
And breathe deeply....

Ooh, I posted my Secret Santa pressie yesterday - hope it makes it through the snow!
So did I... so that should confuse people who are trying to be sneaky and work out from the post mark and handwriting who their gift is from
We had the girls nativity at 2pm.. and I got Twinkle her first pair of shoes.. she wants to go outside and pram shoes aren't really meant for footpaths and mud!
OH at college this morning, DS2 at work, DS3 at college this afternoon and OH jiggled his exam so he came to the nativity.
I need to nag my mother for money.. I loathe doing that!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

No cleaning done this week but I have returned my Q box to Sky and I've almost finished my Christmas shopping, just waiting for a couple of things to be delivered.
Work has been absolutely crap. Today for the first time in year I dreaded going in. I'm so stressed out and I have a deadline to meet on Friday. However, I keep getting dragged into another project to help a colleague except he keeps moving the goal posts so whenever I think I'm done and can focus on my own work I have to start all over again. I was so !!!!ed off earlier when it emerged that he had given me some incorrect data. I stood up, put on my jacket and went for a walk before I started crying.
I can't be bothered cleaning tonight so I'm going to have a bath and hopefully get some sleep tonight.
