Morning all.
Very cold here overnight, even salted areas have frozen over. I have sent my apologies for the carol service and had a lovely reply back from the member of staff organising it, saying I've definitely made the sensible decision. College is a really friendly community
So today is looking like this:
- WM/TDx2 (one is already on)
- "informal" SW this morning, i.e. just weigh-in - a 15 min walk each way
- pick up my prescription
- take Rosie out for an hour when I get back - must remember to take my phone/camera today for Honey Bear's benefit, as we've got sunshine and blue skies again and it's looking beautiful out there despite the cold
- ring the kennels about dropping Rosie off tomorrow afternoon rather than first thing in the morning, to allow the roads to clear
- hair appointment at 1.00: another 15 min walk each way
- do Gift Aid claims
- scan and send notes to our fellow-student who missed the recent weekend course
- start writing Christmas letter and cards
- carry on clearing the RoD
It is slightly better than it was this time yesterday, which is progress
I need all the exercise I can get as I have been eating the chocolate buttons left over from my lucky dip at the Christmas Fayre :rotfl:
Have a good day all, and keep safe x0 -
Dizzy Imp enjoy the nativity, feel quite envious as DS school only do nativity up to age 7.Tiny's preschool, however, is open and the nativity play is going ahead at 11am.
I too was up early ... 3:45 - enjoy your day, if you can stay awakeNarc0lepsy wrote: »Couldn't sleep well so was writing cards, shopping list and marked an assessment at 3am.

*%"£**&^%$£"! swearing for you - how annoying - hope today is a better day xaw (insert string of expletives) my christmas card list is on my old computer. Which is dismantled and in a cupboard.
And I have had a bit of a rough day, not helped by the fact that the container with my cooked chicken was taken to work in actually contained half a raw onion. No wonder I am 'tetchy'
and I cant open my petrol 'door' to fill up, I am hoping it's just frozen.
God I remember those days at work and sure as hell dont miss them! WOW a singer in a bad - good for you - i wish I could singJojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »Ended up 'helping out with an admin task' [strike]bailing another department out who can't get their **** together and mark their mock exams in time for the data drop at the end of the week[/strike]. They haven't even finished marking the papers, so I made a point of sending an email after I'd done everything I could explaining the 'anomalies', rather than have them say I didn't help them out as an excuse for not doing it. Doing the same for another department tomorrow - it'll be interesting to see whether they're making a similar excuse for not having it all on the system by now. Was asked what I'd done in a previous life to be punished in such a way, but I actually didn't mind it too much - whilst I would have preferred to be asked whether I was busy first and would have agreed to do it, I was told I was being lent to the department - I got to put my headphones in, sit at a desk by a radiator that worked and get on, oblivious to the arguments about football that were going on around me.
Came home to find out I'm now a singer in a new band and was recording backing vocals within half an hour.
Obviously, no cleaning has been done, but I have takeaway burger. So it's not all bad.0 -
Disowned :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Ground floor disowned
Off to Camhs tomorrow. Hope it won’t be the usual waste of time.
Good luck with Camhs today, have used them in the past x
Ouch! Poor Valli - is it arthritis?Tender, sore knee wakes me every time I shift position. Still it gives me chance to run stuff, just loaded WM.
Discussion had with son about central heating thermostat setting. 24 deg? Seriously? Instant justification for purchase of internet=enabled controller methinks.
My friend and her husband have heating wars and can control from their mobile phones - he turns it off when she is at home and she blasts it at him when he's home alone!0 -
2 parcels ready to post.. an Amazon return I have been meaning to send for weeks!
I need to find tights for the girls for tomorrow.
OH is off work today so is staying at college all day, he is supposed to be home this afternoon.. and he is taking the girls to their ice skating lesson this evening.. I'm just a bit miffed, I have loads I need help to get through and he is never here when he can be to help.. I don't even feel like I can complain to him about it as he really enjoys it and I just feel like I am being needy if I ask him to spend some time with me.. I'm always by myself it seems.. he is never here, if he isn't at work he is at college, if he is here and the girls are up they hog him because they miss him.. but I miss him too and just get ignored.. see, I'm just needy!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

She's doing a course and hasn't been around very much since it started.
(((Hugs))) Valli.
Double room turned around just in case we get a late phone call from someone looking for accommodation. You never know. The last 40 or so bulbs that were showing signs of green shoots have been shoved in various pots around the sundeck. Might have left it a bit late .... TD has done sterling service on duvet covers. Soup made from veggies lodger that moved out yesterday left and one box of it scoffed for lunch, various things sorted out and more nyger seeds ordered for the goldfinches. Now to write a few Christmas cards.Better is good enough.0 -

Sealed pot challenge number 5520 -
Late check in for me. Today has consisted of paid stuff, being stuck in traffic, getting a call to say pre school was closing early due to frozen pipes, mad rush to collect DS, dash for top up shop, stick a wash on, tidy round, collect DD, and hot foot to swimming lessons where I am currently sat.
Planning on staying up late tonight to catch up on DH business admin and make my house presentable again.
Would rather lie down in a darkened room alone for a week!MFW
