I posted this in another thread and will copy here:

For high Gas users such as myself, EBICO would save me £23 a year compared to my rate with Outfox the market (OFTM). It would also lock in the rate for 4 more months than my current deal, though it would be during a comparatively low Gas usage period (April - August 2021). The downside is, as Ebico Electricity rate is high, I would need to switch my Electricity back to Symbio - and I am quite happy to be away from there.

I do realise that some have had issues with OFTM - I have had no issues with them after 4 months. They did try to adjust our Direct Debit by £10 more per month - quick online chat and in fact I got them to reduce the Direct Debit by £17 per month - I will then increase it myself starting in October for winter usage. They had no issue with this.

Quite novel concept used by OFTM compared to Symbio - you give them a meter reading, and next day you get an invoice that reflects the charges of the meter readings given - very unlike Symbio.

Interesting how on Facebook there are TWO distinct groups - one is the "official" discussion group and the other is a group that like to do a lot of digging into the background of the company who own OFTM. Makes for some fascinating reading.  When dealing with any of the lower budget firms, always got to keep ears and eyes open. For now, after 3 billing cycles, I am satisfied - they have given me accurate bills, and I am building up a bit of credit for the winter season (but nothing ridiculously large).

MattMiddlesborough, the stockbroker jobs in Northampton are at Cave & Sons, but I retired at 48 and live in a village mansion with nothing to do all day, see you in League One next season!😂
P.S. I'm not saving 50 pence a month on my electricity bill, I'm saving over £1 a day, which is over £365 a year or over £3,650 a decade!

Yeah saw - also read in their blog that they came up with the 'single tariff' idea in Winter 2017 and other suppliers have since borrowed their idea.

Either they can't help but lie in a blog or they have 0 competitor analysis and don't know about Bulb Energy

@Clif - As you work there, do you know which one it is?

So has Foxglove's 100% wind power promise gone out the window?

Bulb Energy have 'One Expensive Tariff', however, Outfox the Market have 'One Fair Tariff' and all three brands supply 100% renewable wind electricity!
  • So you're saying that this Outfox Blog isn't trying to say they 'came up' with the idea of one tariff - just a tariff which has the same unit price and standing charge in every region?

Every region has different costs associated with them, meaning that the 'fair tariff' was only going to be fair for maybe half of the customers as the other half would have been over paying. The same price for every region is far from a good idea and instead reflects on a supplier not knowing what they're doing.

Bulb are more expensive now due to trying to make a profit rather than a loss, however they've always been cheaper than Foxglove - who are being mentioned in the above blog.

@Talldave Outfox still buy all of their energy directly from Orsted and have always been "100% wind renewable" (they spend about £1.50 per customer to buy wind REGOs)

Foxglove Energy was aimed at customers who expected paper bills and the option to pay quarterly on receipt of bill, therefore, Outfox the Market will be substantially cheaper for these customers!

I heard a rumour that besides rebranding some of their companies they're launching a new tariff. They're gonna call it the "Estimated Tariff" as that's what most of their customers get billed with.
