  • So... Outfox are constantly getting more expensive - instead of outfoxing the market they're simply following it like sheep

Surely all providers have to track wholesale prices to some degree, even the cheapest ones?
Well yeah, especially the ones priced at or below cost of sale.

I just liked the fox and sheep metaphor too much not to post  :#

Typical use for NN7, however, all providers prices are regional!

Ebico wipe the floor with OFTM for me. Ebico cheapest for dual fuel whilst separate supplies are cheaper still using Ebico for gas and Symbio for electricity.  OFTM in 8th place for gas. Definitely Oufoxed By The Market!!!

Ebico are one of the most expensive providers for me!
  • Think it'll be worth in this thread actually saying what Elec and Gas usage figures you're using.

Ofgem Medium TDCV is 2,900kWh Elec and 12,000 Gas for example.
Clif is likely using less gas on his comparisons to favor Outfoxes much cheaper Elec
TallDave is likely using more Gas, hence the 'gas focus' on his post.

If you're a high gas user then there are likely cheaper suppliers than OFtM currently

Gas break even point for Ebico vs OFTM (London) is around 10,450kWh. So in Ofgem average use terms, Ebico is cheaper for all Medium and High users and a significant number of Low users.

That's a mathematical fact, not a sweeping generalisation.

If you were switching afresh today, separate suppliers would still be your cheapest option, even with your sub-Low gas consumption.

I object to any claims that a supplier is "the cheapest"; with so many different regions and usage profiles that's an impossible claim to verify, so it is entirely disingenuous to make it.

As it happens, the OTM fixed 20 9.0 is the cheapest tariff for my usage in my region. I could save a few pence by switching to the variable tariff for electricity but not gas; nor could I save by switching to different suppliers for different fuels.

OTM did try to increase my direct debit, but reverted it when challenged. I will be extremely cautious and will switch as soon as a better deal appears. So far the bills seem accurate.

When Fix'd 20 9.0 ends, the rollover tariff is One Green Flex 2.0 (annual price £621.60), so I'm not switching again because Outfox The Market provide CONSTANTLY cheap gas & electricity plus EXCELLENT customer service!
