Talldave, customers should do their own research like you and I, but unfortunately, most people can't be bothered and get ripped-off!

Agreed, but I would like to hear a sane explanation of why OFTM price their dual fuel deal to be more expensive than separate supplies in some regions/sub-regions of regions. Customers expect to shop around to find the best deal, but probably don't expect to discover that the supplier they've chosen has a cheaper option they don't tell you about.

My sane explanation is to beat the competition because 9 times out of 10 OFTM are cheapest for typical usage!

That's not an explanation, it's an irrelevant statement that doesn't answer the question posed.

Pure profiteering from customers unaware of a cheaper option from the same supplier they have chosen is OK is it?

Supermarkets are the same, take corned beef for example, you can buy the premium label or the savers label, but look at the packing code and it's exactly the same product!

The 'London' region is not necessarily everything we may think of as London, especially south of the river...

Many areas have more than one DNO, as this 'patchwork quilt' map shows.  Just zoom out and click on some of the different colours !

...Meanwhile, in the world of actual feedback on the supplier in question...
I completed my switch to OTM on 8 May. I just logged in to see if there was any evidence that my final readings had been 'validated' and sent through to my previous supplier (green.energy) before I start chasing up the £30 odd credit balance that they owe me. On my account page I saw this:
That's not entirely reassuring from a company that has supposedly been my supplier for two weeks. They did take the agreed direct debit on the date of my switch. I can only assume that, once the special 'validation agency' invent some new numbers for my opening readings, they will press a button and it will look a bit more like the switch has actually completed.

Does anyone know if the 'validation agency' (or whoever they are) are taking especially long to validate readings at the moment? I can't remember how long it normally takes but it always annoys me every time I switch that they don't just accept a photograph of my meter on the day of the switch and instead insist on using some kind of random number generator; but I digress...

Validated meter reading discrepancy is common, in fact the only time that my meter readings went through unchanged was when I switched to Outfox The Market in September 2019, but only because Eversmart Energy didn't issue any bills whatsoever between September 2018 and September 2019!

Quotezone emailed me today to say that they can help reduce my energy bills, therefore, I checked and Outfox The Market isn't even listed as a UK provider, making Quotezone cheats and liars! Who regulates comparison websites?
