Crabbit Dutchie reporting in with £1490 saved in May and £9630 so far this year. Over halfway after 5 months!

Not too bad considering that included the quarterly electricity bill (yes we really must change that!) a wedding (as a guest) and the renewal of my annual professional membership.

This month the bf finally has his PhD graduation and I'm still kind of undecided about what to get him (if anything). I have a magnum of prosecco, but would like to do something slightly special as well.

#11 with £3932.50 for May, another good month. Total £16,584.46 for the first five months of the year, so happy to be averaging comfortably over £3k a month, and close now to the long-term goal of saving 50% of monthly income :)

#112 reporting £613.57 for May. Not too bad although I thought we might manage a little more. June will be much tighter with lots of travelling.

    Hi Everyone

Have to admit to a silly error in my April figures - I missed 2 ISAs paying interest so had to re-calculate the total : £2268.43 is the new number, sorry for giving you more work SlowlyFading!

May went ok until just the other day, when a lovely week away in Switzerland was rather spoiled by our return flight being cancelled VERY late at night, and with no straightforward flight to transfer onto the next day, we've had some extra expenses (and hassle) to get home. Hopefully easyjet may cough off some compensation...we shall see. May total then is £1686.25

    Happy saving everyone

    £545.86 saved for April.

Despite my S&S ISA falling -5% in total over February and March, it bounced back nicely by 4.55% in April! Yay! Long-term performance remains strong at approx 11.7% annualised since 31/12/2014.

    £154.23 saved for May.

I'm amazed thats all I've saved, but the figures on my spreadsheet don't lie!

I've been re-allocating a lot of money from P2P to savings account, which is obviously earning a lot less interest now. I'm mainly concerned about platform risk after what happened at Collateral, but I think I might put some back into my preferred platform (in terms of lowest relative platform risk), RateSetter.

Been continuing to open bank accounts to access regular savers, but it all seems a lot of work for a bit of interest in 12 months time and only for limited amounts.

In addition I've come to realise I'm still miles away from being able to afford a place in London, which kind of upsets me and sometimes makes me think theres no point in all this!!!

This graph makes me sad

#119 reporting in with a big minus figure for this month: -£1678.72, as expected. Managed to put away over £900 in savings, but had to pay for 13 days spending doing the Coast to Coast walk, which we completed last Saturday. Also had to pay for some new carpets. Will have to pay credit card bill for Coast to Coast Accomodation in June, so another smaller minus figure could be on the cards next month :-(. Sheet updated.
