Bit late jumping in but my and my hubby are starting to seriously save so would love join you all. We both have LISA'S which we opened in Feb so have a little in it already for the last financial year. I'm aiming for £6k between them from our own money for this current year. We have £600 for April so far!

    Happy saving all.

Rather surprisingly, if I include ISA profits since Jan 1st, then I've today hit my 2018 target!! I haven't yet added my ISA profits to my 2018 total - and a lot can change in the next 7 months which might affect the end result! - but I'm really chuffed with my progress to date.
    Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
    Mortgage July 2007 - £0
Original Mortgage Termination Date - Nov 2018
    Mortgage Interest saved - £63790.60
    ISA Profit since Jan 1st 2015 - 98.2% (updated 1 Dec 2020)

I am ready to declare for May now, a really good £1145.67
I think that may be my best month for the year.
  • £1681 for May, had a bit of a blip towards the end but still really pleased!

  • A very tragic £150 for me this month.

The boiler went in my rental flat and I had to pay for initial repairs which didn't fix the problem so no choice but to install a new boiler.

The only good thing is I didn't need loan / credit card to pay so that is a change from last year.

Changing my update for April - I miscalculated my total and I've decided to add in my LISA bonus as I'm including interest from all my other accounts anyway - new total for April is £2887.91. Overall total this year is £2951.16

Saved £490.40 in May - I definitely could have done better after spending money eating too many takeaways :o It's given me the motivation to do better this month. Crazy to think we're nearly half way through the year already

Total for the year so far is £3441.56
