You can't reply direct to a message but if you press the "Quote" button on the post you want to reply to, it adds the post you were replying to in the message :)

Also if you want to add a signature at the bottom to track everything, go to User CP in the menu at the top, then you can select "Edit Signature" on the left hand side menu :)

If you look up Save a Penny a Day in the forums, it is another saving goal where you put away 1p extra each day so 1st January 1p, 2nd January 2p, etc all the way up to £3.65 31st December. The idea is that you won't miss the extra money if you keep putting it away each day.

That is the theory but lots of people do it different ways, I do a week of small amounts and then a week of large amounts otherwise by the time it gets to December you are needing £20+ a week which might be tight at xmas time! :D

I hve created a saving account to store it but some people do money in a jar, idea is that by the end of the year you have £600+ to either spend on xmas or just a nice little saving pot to continue! :)
Thank you so much, I have just learned how to reply to a post. I found the 1p a day challenge

  • Wasn't able to save anything for the first two months of the year unfortunately, but managed to save £1200 for March. Hopefully will just continue going up from here!

A bizarrely good month for me with £1,300 saved. I say bizarrely as I went on holiday for a week and spent more than I should/I budget for in my "fun" categories as well. The savings were boosted by interest being paid on my help to buy ISA but I'm not sure how I managed the rest!

Onwards and upwards for April. With a week of it having been spent from and accounted for in the "holiday" category, I'm hoping to stay in budget in my normal categories this month as I've still allocated a whole month's amount to each of them. Fingers crossed!

April has been a better month £604.54 total savings. I also received a £500 gift which went straight into savings but I am not counting that as I want to know at the end of the year how much we have actually saved. Got some interest coming in May and June so they should be good months and July has an extra pay week. Been away with the kids and spent a grand total of £20 bargain (we were treated to some days out by friends) but I am keeping the extra left in my account for now instead of transferring to savings because we need oil.
