52 reporting in with £666.25 for this month. Quite pleased with the amount as I'm having to buy a car a year earlier than expected, but that's what I get for running it until it's only scrap value. Thank goodness some dealers still have the £2000 scrapage scheme. It is the job that is never started that takes the longest to finish. Tolkien.Save 12k in 2025 No 18 365 1p challenge 2025 No 20

Hi,
I'm number 114.
My savings for March is: £937.81
I sent a huge amount for a relative, I used more petrol as usual due to some longer extra journeys, there was some essential maintenance on my car and taking it to an MOT. I also a paid a Mother day's lunch, and bought some new clothes.0 -
Well done you!
What are you invested in?
As half our savings are in stocks and shares and we've had a bad month, everything we've actually saved is likely to be wiped out by the losses this month.
Good job we're in it for the long haul
I'm in a mixture of investment trusts and stocks. I've moved out of unit trusts pretty much entirely now as investment trusts and stocks are more flexible and more transparent. Yes there have been recent falls but you're absolutely right to take a long-term view - and stay away from headline-grabbing "investments" such as Bitcoin. The herd mentality won't win you any prizes in the long-term. Buy only companies/stocks which you understand.Mortgage Feb 2001 - £129,000
Mortgage July 2007 - £0
Original Mortgage Termination Date - Nov 2018
Mortgage Interest saved - £63790.60

Very happy with my efforts in march. Exceeded my target of £600 for the month with
£300 going into my s&s isa and £500 put in to my nationwide regular saver. With my car insurance, mot and any maintenance work needed, it could be a challenging month for saving in April.0 -
hi all, no. 15 here reporting £1,036.04 for March, bringing the yearly total to £1,232.59 so far. I'm incredibly happy with that because I had to replace the boiler in March and was expecting a much worse result as a consequence, but I also got paid a bit more than usual and to an extent the one balanced the other out (hooray!)0

No. 119 reporting on the face of it a measly £177.91 for March, with update sheet filled in. Although a very small total, I am extremely pleased, because we had a two week walking holiday in Spain to pay for, and we built up a big credit card bill during the 2 weeks, which I paid off as soon as we got back. I expected a large negative figure this month, but fortunately I got some rare overtime and some other extra pay, which helped bring in a small positive instead.
I am expecting the next 2 months to be quite tough too, as we're doing the Coast to Coast walk in May and that has to be paid for, but my wife stopped working at the end of last July, so should be owed about £600 in tax back. It depends when she gets that.
Anyway, Happy Days for now!0
