Well today was one of the most stressful ever. After spending the past fortnight being all over our sale my solicitor decided to go AWOL for two days 🤦 apparently doing some online training! EA was chasing me to get me to chase her, I nearly cried down the phone to her secretary. All she had to do was forward the indemnity policy buyer needs to me for me to say yes all good we will pay. which she did at 4pm. So no idea if buyer managed to transfer her deposit, which baffles me as to why this wasn't done last week!
Anyway my solicitor is now asking everyone else if they are ready to exchange tomorrow so 🤞🤞🤞 worst case it doesn't happen but our buyers solicitors and ours start drawing down the mortgage funds so we can exchange Thurs/Fri and still complete on the 27th. Which considering we have had to pay the full cost of removals and book them in properly has to happen.
At least I am working tomorrow to try and keep my kind off it all. With my phone glued to my hand 😂
I packed a box with cake making stuff and various odds and ends from the kitchen and washed out the cupboards and drawers. Removals are dropping off box's on Thursday, so hopefully we will have exchanged by then so it will be all systems go.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4 -

Well after a ridiculously nervous day we managed to exchange at 4.50pm 🎉🎉🎉
And have since discovered a leak in the upstairs bathroom 🤦 not gushing, but enough to notice so emergency plumber booked for tomorrow. You couldn't make this stuff up 😭
Insurance purchased for new house, new fridge freezer bought for delivery on 28th and just awaiting completion statement to check what funds we will have left. We will get a refund from our current mortgage company as we have a payment to them on the 25th that won't have been counted in the redemption statement. Annoying but not the end of the world.
So we are moving in a week 😁😁😁Debt free Feb 2021 🎉5 -

Well plumber here. Now have a hole in our downstairs bathroom ceiling as it's the only way to access the leak 😱🤦😭 he has said he will tape screw the piece back up but it will need skimming. I am not doing that, will speak to my handyman and get a rough idea of price and leave his contact details and the cash on the side for the new buyers. Bad enough having an emergency plumber in the house, not having non essential plastering done too.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3
