  • Just catching up - how exciting about the kittens! The two brothers sound ideal - PD was the antisocial leftover runt of her litter (it was 9 or 10 kittens, don’t really blame her) or else I would have got a sibling too.

Fingers crossed for work, but sounds like you’re on top of the finances regardless 😀

Our house rabbit was the leftover runt and was a bit...duff 😂 the little one was very cute, but we decided the two bigger ones would be a better bet together. We may change our minds when they are chasing each other up the curtains 🙄😂

  • I do love a duff runt 😂 And yes, I bet they will get into all kinds of mischief together! I think it does help to have similar sizes as their rough and tumble should be more evenly matched (in theory!) Lots of fun to come when you do get them home 😀

So some cat stuff ordered/obtained this weekend. Two cat trees, two litter boxes (and need one more) brush and comb, feeding bowls and some toys. Need to place an order through hubby's work for food and they do a few other things too. The food they are on is expensive!!! He also needs to look at pet insurance through his work (actually I can probably do that using his login). But still have a decent chunk set aside for cat expenses. Need to contact our local vet to chat about microchipping and neutering.

Actually braved town this morning as wanted a mooch around. The girl has been applying for part time jobs, she would adore to work in either Water-stones or hobbycr@ft, neither are taking on (not a shock). She has heard back from one wanting more info, so may get an interview. In the meantime my mum helps in a charity shop every week but isn't allowed to ATM, so we are going to go in tomorrow to see if she can pick up some volunteer hours there, she is stupidly bored now.

Every thing is feeling a bit tight now moneywise. The loan is looking much better and hubby is waiting for his payrise to kick in this month. I updated tax credits and have lost a huge chunk, but this is to be expected. Need to contact the mortgage broker, may actually give him a ring now.

Sorry about your car. Hope the savings pot is enough.
The kittens sound like they will be fun when they arrive.
Hope your DD manages to secure a job.

I swear the car knows when I have money set aside for any needed maintenance! Desperately want it to get through another year, as we would need a loan to get one, but could possibly downsize as we rarely go out as a family of six now. But we don't want to have to take on any finance before a new mortgage as this would impact how much we would be able to borrow. So annoyed about it tbh. I have spent over 1k in the past year on various things that have gone wrong. Luckily I have the £300 and can probably find another £200 if needed and we have a 1k ef too. But still so annoying. If hubby stays WFH for the majority of his week (looking likely long term tbh) and I wasn't doing my se work we could almost get away without having one for a few months.
