That’s good that you have started back at work again and good news about the grant money. Not so good about possibly losing the nice job.

We also went to Cornwall a year ago and we were meant to be going today but it has been cancelled. I have transferred until next May as I’m not sure that everything will be open over the summer. Additionally it is a lot more money in summer. I had all my spending money saved so I transferred half to new house move fund and the rest I will keep in case we manage a few days in August, just like you.

Thats a shame about the perfect house. I love looking on Rightmove.

Child benefit and DLA came in today. Paid another £100 off the council tax, that is sitting at owing £700 now. Bought another £100 of premium bonds.

Quote came in for the doors, £1600! I have it, would mean a bit of juggling, but wouldn't add to the debt. Am just checking that it includes everything then will book it in I think.

  • We were also due to be in Scotland for half term.  It will still be there when lockdown is over which is the main thing.  Door quote doesn’t seem too bad and bonus if your not increasing debt to do it.

So have the go ahead for the doors. Think it may be the last thing we do, all being well we will get the house on the market in September. Although we may have to rethink the amount we will have available as I think the amount we can get for a mortgage will go down. Will revisit it in September. If we don't move I want to get the back garden finished. But need paving put down which will cost.

Today I touched base with my two private clients and they both want me back from next week, so will be earning something next month. Also have a full day with the boss deep cleaning a beauty clinic next week. It's a bit of a drive so am going to have to car share. Masks, window open, sitting in the back. But I need to start bringing some money in. I need to source some more mop heads to try and use one per client too. Will be nice to get back into a routine though.

The weird one is back to school from next Tuesday, will see how it goes, but not overly confident he will cope. He has had a tough couple of days, heat just doesn't agree with him at all so he has struggled.

Managed to get out to a local woods today which was lovely and cool.

The boy wants to earn some extra money, so I am putting him to work tomorrow. He may regret it 😂 put it this way I have been putting off mowing the lawns....😁

Good to hear you have some work next week and that you will be bringing in some money.

Three of my kids go back to school next Wednesday and my baby goes back to nursery on Tuesday. I am looking forward to it as it has been tough keeping them occupied and not fighting.

My kids would never mow my lawn, that said it really doesn’t take that long to mow our tiny bit of grass! Good on you for getting your boy to mow your lawns to earn some money!

Glad you your work is taking off again. I am desperate for my cleaner to return but she has 2 small kids and would normally use school or her parents for childcare so not sorted anything out yet.

SH I am lucky that the girl is here so even if the hubby was back at the office I have child care.

MO4K, the boy won't want to mow the lawns (ours are also very small) but he desperately wants to buy some paint brushes to paint his miniatures (him and the hubby do Warhammer) and he is £1 short. Also he is in our bad books as he broke the family laptop, so won't be getting the allowance I promised him from August. I give the girl £50 a month, and was going to start his once he turns 15. But am going to defer it until Oct so we get £100 towards a new laptop, so if he wants any money he needs to properly earn it. He is already having to wash up every day for the foreseeable future, so I need additional things for him to do outside of usual chores.

Well in that case, make him work as much as possible lol. I might have to up the amount I give my two eldest kids if you give yours £50 per month. Although they do both have part time jobs even if they aren’t working at the moment. My eldest works at the local coffee shop and is currently on furlough and being paid. My 14 year old babysits for my friend’s kids in the school holidays and some weekends. She can’t work at the moment for obvious reasons but she doesn’t have anything she wants to spend her money on and currently has about £100 saved up.

I give my daughter £50, but she has to buy all her toiletries, clothes (bar absolute essentials) snacks, birthday presents etc. ATM she has a lot of spare cash as she had saved money to buy merch from the three concerts she had booked. I was expecting her to get a part time job in August so I could just shift what I pay her to the boy as I wouldn't carry on if she was working. But with the current economic situation she probably won't be now. The boy gets £10 and has to save £1 of that. He can also earn money working with me in the holidays, but he won't be able to now until probably next Easter time.
