Hi Molly I have a morphy richards breadmaker which makes jam beautifully BUT the bread is better in the Panasonic I just bought...The panasonic recipes for dough however make up just as well in the Morphy Richards :rotfl: I'm not much help really am I lol...:o
edit..the panny doesn't make jam..its only shortcoming!
Verdict on the Doughnut tins...
To be honest I prefer the electric doughnut maker..
The batter was a right pain to get into the tins in the right way, whereas its just one dessertspoon straight in the hole on the doughnut maker..
The DM can make 40 small ones for around 30p tops(!) you need approx 4 times the amount of flour etc so more cost effective than the trays...
You have to watch the oven doesn't catch them as they get tough if too browned, whereas the DM 2 mins per batch is always exactly right..
So that's my honest opinion..its good to have both to be able to compare them HTH all you doughnut fans :rotfl:0 -
wow thanks for the pic's ddd. the donuts look gorgeous, but the ones made in the maker when you posted pic's before , looke dmore um donuty. if that makes sence.
i like the idea of the cost effectiveness of the maker . 30p for about 40 donut's. wow.
off to argos soon i think. oohhh didn't someone post up about donut makers being £10 in tesco. might look online. even see if i can buy one on ebay.
it dull , grey and heavy rain out side. and got to go out on acourse with hubby at 4 anyway. so staying in for now sounds good. lol. ( how lazy am i)0 -
DDD those doughnuts look so yummy!
This is what my cupboard now looks like after last nights delivery:
They didn't have any breadflour, pepperoni or the value Angel Delight type stuff thoughCan still cram quite a bit more in there so will pick up a few more tins of chopped tomatoes (only 4 in there) and some caster sugar as I forgot to order some more after using up the last in the banana loaf the other day. I can't fit all the crisps in there so they are just sat in the kitchen annoying me until I can find somewhere else for them to live.
And here is my fridge:
Plenty to be getting on with!
Tonight's dinner will be spinach and ricotta lasagne, with mandarin segments and Carnation cream for pudding. Also just about to make some mince and onion pasties for OH to take for lunch for the rest of the week.
New job is going well so far, except I was up all night (again!) with DS and DD (both teething at the same time ), and I was trying to tidy up because of my new boss deciding to come round at 9am. So I've had 1hr sleep in 48hrs  Why do my children never sleep?! My flat is spotless though (if you don't look in our bedroom :rotfl:), and I have full cupboards and a new job so I'm very happy!!Grocery Challenge £5.43/£320.00

P.S. I know my cupboard is no where near as impressive as others, but that, and one other little cupboard for herbs/spices/tea/coffee etc, is literally the only space I have for food storage!Grocery Challenge £5.43/£320.00

jen at least you have some food in i have a friend who shops daily and ends up spending approx 20-30 a day. My shopping also came yesturday it came to £111 but paid £75 as i used my tesco vouchers(i know i know should use them against days out etc but need food more than trip to eden project or mag subscription) Freezer is stocked up (didnt even have room to freeze little ones porridge last night), Stock cupboard is full of tin toms, bread flour and beans and soup. i have also managed to get bits for xmas tin chocs shortbread biscuits and crisps which are all going into loft to avoid temptation:o
Im planning on cooking more for my DP to take to work with him but have no idea where to start was thinking pasties etc any recipes would be fantastic also any other ideas for work lunches:D0 -
D&DD - do I remember you writing somewhere in this thread that you have a garden? With your need for strawberries do you think you could get your son to eat little one?
I always grow the alpine variety, they may be small but you generally get lots and they produce to the start of winter. In the UK last year I picked a couple in November. They make a lovely border/edging so take up little room and they don't suffer as much slug or bird damage as the 'normal' ones. :j
It was just a thought as if you want to grow them from seed you need to plant them in January. The packet says they fruit for a couple of years but I find they go on longer than that plus if I do find any that have been slug munched I just push the remains into the soil and hope that more will germinate. I usually buy the Suttons Mignonette variety - mainly because I can get Suttons to germinate while have difficulty with other brandsAiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget
