lolly I always spend my vouchers on food for the same reason
Theres not really any deals that suit our family anyway! Work lunches, baguettes make a nice change, salads, pasta etc although being a man they sometimes won't take stuff like that..I know mine won't *exasperated sigh*...Pasties mmm lovely, homemade sausage rolls or cheese n onion ones? Chicken and mushroom? I also do the boys toasted sandwiches sometimes as they like these cold? And what about a nice box of strawberries??:rotfl:
speaking of whichdnD thanks so much for thinking of us I have the suttons mignonettes they are 3 years old now (grew from seed) and they have been fab!! Still producing now (first pickings may!!) I also have some brilliant everbearers crossed with 'normal' strawberries so they bear for a looong time like the alpine but PROPER sized strawberries..will dig out the names..They are still producing now but rotting off because of all the rain  lost some gorgeous big ones!!!
Jcr I only ventured out for the school run and an ebay parcel today..it was horrible here did you stay in in the end or did the 'doughnut mission' overtake you ??
Jamie I did get to the bottom of my ironing pile at last today how's yours looking???
As well as the doughnuts I made a loaf today and have sorted out some good 'use up' recipes..I need to make biscuits tomorrow as we're running low and the boys are [STRIKE]whining[/STRIKE]asking for some..
Breakfast was the usual toast and tea for DS3 but cereal and wheatabix for the other 2
Lunches were HM rolls with ham for elder 2 and a few sausage rolls, lunch for DS3 was 'marmite' roll and strawberries...
Dinner was lamb and mash with peas and carrots followed by last pie from the freezer  I have plenty of fruit in there must have a 'pie day' lol I just have to remember to put the alphabet on them so I know which is which..*visions of steak pie and custard *:rotfl:0 -

evening all:)
ds2 had a meltdown this evening and ran out in the rain in his pjs, ds1 then exploded and followed....luckily i managed to calm them both down fairly quickly and get them back indoors! ds2 now asleep (and will probably now wake up with a cold) and ds1 is watching tv and eating toast! poor mums nerves are frayed to say the least!
had to pick dd up from nursery mid morning as she wasnt feeling well and ds1 was at home as it was target setting at school today, so i feel like i have accomplished zilch today! i did managed to knock up a rather lovely chilli though and chucked in a few leftovers from the fridge too:) ds2 turned up after school with friend in tow, so i fed him too! and i have 2 portions leftover which the boys have asked if they can have for dinner tomorrow!
my usual riverford order is coming tomorrow, together with the meat box i have ordered for the first time. im quite excited (am i sad?:D) i am planning to make 2 large quiches with the bacon, and another chilli with the mince....im still deciding on the rest:)
will pop to tesco first thing for cheese and milk for the quiches and some more soya milk which i am nearly out of.
i am going to find it really hard to keep in budget this month, but hopefully i have enough in to last me. i have enough meat to last me, i will need to order more fruit and veg for next week but it will just be things like milk, cheese and ham that i will have to buy.
i havent enough supplies in to be able to shop from home just yet! i am so envious of all your stocks!!! and i love the piccies...more please:DNovember NSD's - 70 -
D&DD.....
ironing pile is very tiny now.....until i empty the airing cupboard and then it will grow all over again:DNovember NSD's - 70 -
Its nice to be able to just snuggle down with one for a change isn't it
I love it when I get the chance to spoil one of mine with a bit of mummy time on their own although the eldest is more like a hermit now lol he runs in the opposite direction when he sees me coming...
*dusts off sugar from muffins book*
right what do you fancy I have...just a few will post this before I lose it and add the list in a mo..
The basic Muffin recipe...
9 oz plain flour( or gf flour..)
3 tspns baking powder
1/2 tspn salt
3 oz caster sugar
8 fl oz milk (or soy milk)
3 fl oz sunflower oil (Jamie stash the eye q in here...2 tblspoonsworth!)
1 egg
Preheat oven to 375f,190c,GM5
Chuck dry stuff in one bowl, wet stuff in another then combine the two but stir just enough to mix..so theres no flour
left dry.
Fill muffin cups 3/4 full or top for large muffins (I have the mini muffin pan from lakelands as DS3 eats this size but not the big ones..)Bake for 20-25 mins in a normal oven (fan ovens aren't great for muffins but just decrease the time if baking in one.Ready as for normal cakes when the top springs back..
Variations on this mix are
choccie chip (add 4 oz choc drops)
coffee and walnut(substitute the 8oz milk with 6oz coffee and 2oz of milk plus 2 oz chopped walnuts)
lemon( add 1 tspn grated lemon peel and lemon icing to finish)0 -

i did look on tesco but coulnd't find anythign , but you have spelt donut different to me , so maybe that why. i shall look again , thankyou.
both recipes for muffins look great.
i was thinking chocolate at first, then i thought how about a basic one with the hundreds and thousands in so i get the rainbow effect. i then thought yummy banana. i don't know why i thought banana as i've never had banaan cake or muffins. but for some reason( maybe the pregnancy i fancy some) and thought in the last few mins of the banana ones cooking i could put some chopped up fudge on the top so it goes all googy and yummy. no idea if this would actually work tho.0 -
