  • HELP My husband came home the other day with a pheasant, already plucked thankfully. What do I do with it, in a frugal MSE type of way of course. A friend suggested popping it in the slow cooker, but for how long and do I brown it first? Also if I do that what do I put in with it? I'm a great baker, but awfull cook, my DH once broke a tooth on my roast beef!!
    Hope someone can hep, thanks

Mortgagefreeforme good luck with the pheasant it should be lovely

jcr16 glad that it seems to be some sort of virus rather than a prob with the baby. But take it easy and let hubby pamper you for a few days just in case.

Well its been a busy old day here as I've spent most of it either shopping or posting stuff on Ebay.I just dont know how people sell stuff on Ebay on a regular basis it is sooooo tedious. But if everything sells I might be able to afford my floor tiles!Hubby has finally got round to tiling the last wall and only a bit of papering and painting and its done.Well all bar the floor.I havent got any baking or housework done to speak of today and only just managed to make a quick tea of Corned Beef Hash before he ushered me out of the kitchen to start the tiling again!Oh well I think it'll have to be a large Vodka and a movie tonight

well done Molly :T so glad all the baking turned out well for you :D It so nice to see it all disappear isn't it ??
Today actually was very um...challenging at times but great at others..
Docs trip was an absolute nightmare!! He only had to walk to the end of our road fortunately but boy what a journey..Roadworks with drills  luckily his ear defenders were tucked in my bag so they went on and he trundled in to the docs ok until he saw... a baby :o He just associates them with noise blesshim and the dear LO was fast asleep but he refused to enter the waiting room, sat in the lobby bit under his coat with his hoodie up!! Then he did his nut about the different doc and to top it all of we saw a dog on the way home..a whole street away mind but it was enough to make him leg it  so theres me huffing and puffing to keep up...him running screaming, away from the dog BUT towards the roadworks..zigzagging the main road...blimey I was soooo glad to get indoors!
Then we had,'never going out again cos theres dogs'...
He finally settled when we went into the garden...
We then spent a lovely afternoon digging up some veg for some soup and he even helped me peel and chop some!!
Then we played some boardgames until the other 2 herberts arrived home then the usual chaos decended...
Finally got my chicken in at 6.30 lol so we just had dippers/chickenburgers and chips for tea but they went down a treat!!
I've got a much quieter week next week *as far as I know now!* so will be baking up a storm hooray!!!!!!
