Swiss roll... flour, eggs, sugar, or you could make sponge drops with the mix and 'glue' them together with jam!

Well my only reasonable day in this week has gone to pot :rotfl: Have DS3 home  He safely munching toast and brownies for breakfast so I have a couple of minutes before getting dragged off to play soldiers!!
Have to take him to the docs for a referral for an EEG and he hates the surgery..so I may need recipes for bruise ointments later!
I've got him some cooking stuff out so if he's in the mood we may be able to bake still, can't really gauge what sort of mood hes in yet :D
Have a chicken ready for roasting for tonights dinner wether it'll actually get done today is anyones guess tho :rotfl: we may end up with beans on toast unless Dad gets home early enough to babysit...

Sounds as if you have your hands full D&DD, hope it goes well for you and DS3 today.

My day would go better if I could shift my @r*e from here for a while... well I can justify just now, having breakfast and sun is shining for a change. I have to do phototherapy every day this time of year, so that's good.

Yeah, the sun is a bit of a boost. I have SAD so it isn't really a very good time of year for me. I have had significant time off work in the past few winters, but change of regime seems to be helping this year. Only a couple of months then I can ease off the medication and light therapy for the summer.

thanks everyone for all ur get well's.

i am however feeling mega rotten. i struggled to sleep last night as i felt so uncomfy and i couldn't stop coughing, bit of a temp. feel like i've got a flu liek virus now more than a pregnancy porb.

but my little boy woke up crying at 3 am , burning up. he had a really high temp. so i alid on bed with him , watched dvd , gave him some medicine , he had lots of water to drink. i finally got back into my bed at 4 or 5 i think, feeling shattered.

hubby had to be up at 6 as had a really early start. but he brought me up a cup of tea. which was relly sweet and he tidied up downstairs and emptied and re-filled the dishwasher.

my son is now snuggled up on sofa with me, he looks so poorly, his eyes and nose are streaming. my mum has pickedup my little girl and taken her to school then looking after her for the afternoon. handy having my mum living 2 mins away. they are going food shoping after school my daughter loves gong shopping with nanny.

as for food wise , omg i have no idea what we are gonna be eating. loads of things in, but no energy. hubby treated us all to a take away last night. i had chilli con carne. was gorgeous.

i must do some baking over next day or so as we hve nothign in , like that. hubby would liek some flapjacks . so might give him the recipe and direct him from the sofa , lol.

    Hiya Everyone,

Just thought id pop back on and say hey!

Feelin in a bit of pain today, I had a tooth out yesterday, and now the anaesthetic has worn off properly, im really feeling the effects!

jcr, sorry to hear youre feeling rough, hope you feel better soon. Good idea about directing your DH to the kitchen from the comfort of the couch!

D&DD, hope things go well for you and your DS3 today.

Today for me will be picking DS up from nursery at 11, then off to see my MUm for a couple of hrs. Ive got a chicken in the oven roasting for the tea- just one question about that, it has todays date on, but if i cook it today, will it all have to be used up today, or will cooking kit 'buy' me an extra day, so I could maybe use it in rice or something tomorrow?
I should really do an inventory of my freezer and cupboards, and try and just shop for essentials next month.Im sure with all the fab ideas and encouragement on here I shoule be able to give it a whirl! We have a car to tax at the end of Feb, so if I can save a bit of money during the month, it shouldnt be too much of a pain to get!

Have a good day everyone, and I hope that all of you that are feeling a bit under the weather are feeling better soon! xx

I have got so much to do. So why is it that I have been sitting on here catching up instead?
I suppose I've done a bit today, scrubbed both loos which were minging, got wm and td on. I need to do my ironing so that DH can get on and do some more plastering this evening when he gets home from work. My living room carpet is knee deep in crumbs too!
I went shopping last night and spent £149:eek: ! I did get stung by DH- £55 for his Bday present. Then there was £28 for clothes for DS. So I suppose once all that's accounted for (and the fact that I had lots of long lasting stocky up bits to get) it wasn't too bad really. I think I can survive the rest of the month just buying fruit and veg and milk.
Got some bargainous crunchy nut cornflakes- usually £2.58 for 750g but Mr T had them 2 for £2.50. I only got 2 because that was all they had. Silly devils I bet it's a misprice!
Anyhoo TD has just finished so I must get off my fat lazy bum and empty it and refill it! TTFN, Kaz.
PS, hope you poorly ones are feeling a bit better now.

Jeni, once its cooked I would say it'll be ok for a couple of days in the fridge. I remember reading on here somewhere that its best to take it off the bone though, I'd put the bones into the pan for soup or stock ;)

we are "just round the corner" so to speak if you visit Castle Coombe and Laycock! Dyhram Park is a good Nat trust place to visit too. Do you know what sort of places you want to visit JCR?

Hope you are feeling better today - please take it easy... have a rest :)

Feeling a bit "coldy" today with scratchy throat and bad tinnitus  ... still have boys home from school so no peace and quiet... in fact.. littley has been up and playing since 5am (cue complaints from our neighbours....... :o )... need to make some nibbles though... :o only have 2 eggs... no oats.... what can I make that is easy???
Thanks that's next on our list, my brother lives in Christian Malford so enjoy visits down there quite a bit. We often drop in our way back from cornwall where our eldest daughter lives- so feel very blessed. I love this area and was looking to move there ( wiltshire) As it would be half way to daughter's save on the travel!! Plus i can visit properties to my hearts content. Hope you are feeling better soon- nothing worse than feeling under weather with little ones.
