I tend to use Stork for baking, not butter as I too am a bit tight! Works out fine for everyday cakes. I got my Lakeland order yesterday too - turns out that mini doughnuts are very popular here!! They sent me a free roll of foil too, as a try it to see if you like it offer. Can't fault Lakeland for any aspect of the service, when I found the mini doughnut pan didn't come with a recipe, I rang them to see if they could help, they emailed me a recipe sheet within minutes, I am going to send the a "well done" email in return:T0

enjoy this thread but have been off for a couple of weeks with the cold/fluey bug going round, still have it after 3 weeks, but has meant i haven't felt guilty about getting glued into these threads..:j
thanks yategirl for the dishcloth mention, i was thinking about starting knitting my own ones again so this has spurred me on, will have to look at where i can find some dishcloth cotton from, may even knit some for chrissie pressies next year, i did scarves three years ago before the funky fur craze took over so need to think of some other little things to knit, i get a knitting bug about every 3 or 4 years!
this thread has prompted me to get my slow cooker out again and to start making my own vegetable soup (just finished one from this week). DS2 leaving home for 6 months, so now it is just DH and me for 6 months we can eat what we want and intend to be very mse and natural. will keep on here for inspiration and ideas0 -

tooties, have you check the meal plan thread - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=662513
A good place to start is with a list of what you have in stock, meats etc.
you cant do everything at once, so dont be hard on yourself; it sounds like you've had a good day on the decluttering so give yourself a pat on the back for that! :T... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I havent ever cooked a full chicken in the SC but I have cooked chicken pieces and they still colour exactly the same as in a conventional oven.If they were pink you wouldnt eat them anyway as they would still be classed as undercooked wouldnt they??
Good luck with the ironing and bonsibabe hope whatevers wrong gets better soon

am kicking myself this morning.... I have been making yoghurt and keeping 2 tblsp back for the next days starter as this saves me 40-50 pence each time on buying a small tub of plain yoghurt........ well yesterday I forgot to save 2 tblsp... and we do not have enough for breakfast tomorrow... argh! We are supposed to be having toad-in-the-hole tonight.... well we are having it without the "hole" as we have no eggs... this week my organisation and meal plans have gone to pot0
