I feel a pastry-making session coming on. :j I have some eggs that need using so a couple of quiche-y tupe things - tuna and sweetcorn quiche, sausage and onion. I fancy the school dinner cheese pie though and might make a treacle tart too. Thinking that I'll freeze portion sizes of all for later in the month.
Thanks for the inspiration tooties!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

For anyone who is struggling to get dishcloth cotton, you can just use ordinary 100% cotton yarn if you see some cheap in the wool shop.
A lot of the American knitting sites have washcloth patterns (flannels) that are done in colours often with a pattern in.
There is a pattern for a basketweave dishcloth on www.homespunliving.blogspot.com I have made this one but just in white as I didn't have any red yarn.
Just to show off, I have posted a piccie of it on the knitters thread. (smug smilie)
If anyone wants to have a go, I have got loads of cotton yarn. For some reason I bought 2kg of white cotton on hanks about 6 years ago and it has sat here unused until now.
I am more than happy to send enough yarn to anyone who wants to try a dishcloth. (numbers permitting of course).
PM me if you want more info or a package of yarn and a pattern.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
I think I'm going to have a bash at making the raised pork pie in Thriftyladys wartime Thread.I have loads of salad stuff languishing in the fridge and hubby is on lates so a cold tea will mean I dont have to start cooking when he gets in.I would normally make Quiche Lorraine though as it goes down a treat with the kids but have some sausagemeat in the fridge that needs using up

Thx for that jcr, anyone have any ideas about the other things, ds likes pizza, cheese etc, so amounts for other fillings would be good for him to take in his lunch box."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Hi, I have a question for the breadmakers.. I tried for the 1st time today to make bread by hand... alls fine except I lined the tin with greaseproof paper and when the bread came out it stuck to the paper so on peeling away so did the bread! Any suggestions as to what I should or should not be doing please.... I do have a bread machine but all my attempts have been bricks, the only thing thats been a success has been the pizza dough.
Thanks0
