    Hi Midge

My gran taught me to knit when i was young, but never got round to teaching me how to follow a pattern or make much more than squares lol.

I got this wool in my local lidl for 5.99 euros (about 3.50 gbp) and two packs are bobbly wool and the other pack looks like ribbon so may have to use 2 packs for one scarf and get another pack to make a second scarf, I have started (i have cast on 50 stitches and it looks about the right width!) so will take it from there!

Am off to town next week to get some more chunky wool from the shops so I can make more for all the female relatives and some for my 2 daughters and my step-daughter, I will more than likely have a load of scarves made by the time my parents come over on holiday - but these are getting kept as christmas pressies for this year! Am starting the money saving in earnest this year.

I'm also off on monday to the post office with my bank letters to see if we can get back some money from them, if I can get enough together to pay off my smaller loan (it was standing at 6000 but more than likely down to about 5500 quid now) I'll be a happy bunny this year!

    Take care

    Di xx:T

I wish I was better at knitting..... I can cast on and get going.. then I get holes and I can't cast off!!! Seriously.. I bought 4 balls of dishcloth cotton thinking "I'll practice and make something useful at the same time" .... well 3 balls are untouched and the fourth has been knitted and re-wound several times!!!!!

am trying Dan Lapard's soft bread roll recipe today... have been looking at the recipe for ages so made the "sponge" bit this morning..... hope it works... would be nice to taylor make "soft" rolls to suit dh and ds1's lunchboxes and be the right size for them (i.e tiny for ds1 and HUGE for dh!) lol!

Wow, we're onto cookers now too!
I got a chocolate fountain from Mr T's from my Mum for Christmas which I really don't want. My bread maker is on its last legs so I'm kind of hoping that I can take it into Mr T's and get a new breadmaker. I need to have a look around now and see what is available.

i spent about 3-4 hours today sorting through kitchen cupbaords. clearing , cleaning and moving things around.

boths kids helped me, they loved it. prob why it took longer than i would of hoped.

Got loads of ideas for meal's and things to cook. so will try and write ameal plan out for the next week. think i'll do a list of meals for say 1 month. but look at the list each week to work out the meals for the week , so i don't get bored.

on downside i forgot to shut my fridge freezer door properly last night, and i lost 1 whole drawer of food from it. for some reason the bottom two drawers the food was still solid as a rock. but i'm not complaining.serves me right really cause i very rarely check i've shut it properly.

i've got lots of mini frut and jellys and little triffles my daughter helped me make last night.i'm looking forward to having a mini triffle. i love them.

just thought i'd try my luck on freecycle for a waffler maker or a donut maker. see if anyone is wanting to get rid of one.

Dee. your new oven is gorgeous, I'd love one of those when we finally sell up and move.

I had a rotten day yesterday (the word arthritis thrown around-I already have Fibromyalgia and am only 25 so I'd quite truly had enough!) and the car wouldn't start and we won't be able to have OHs SD over til Sunday to try and jump start or fit a new battery for us....arghhh. OH treated us to a Chinese take away, out of his own spending money rather than my grocery budget, I did have a bit of a winge though but in the end chose some stuff I could eat half and freeze for another day, haha.

Have barely done anything today but have a loooong list to work through tomorrow, think I'll stick the radio on and have a sing along whilst I get it all done :) Got some marking to do and we are having Thai Green chicken curry with rice and veg, followed by fruit salad. But I shall have a bath first!
