They sent us 12 tags - how much luggage to they expect us to take. I was hoping to get away with just the two cases.

I'm putting two on the kids, just in case ;), so that will be just enough then

I emailed them through the contact page and they we're really good with information, worked out at £150 for four of us but that gives you 25km of snowmobiling !!!!!! + reindeer ride + santa + refreshments

    Hi Curtlyb,

How did you pay? Email them your CC details? Also, what was the cost in Euros?

We are looking at booking for a family of four :)

    Cheers, Des.
  • Been dreaming on lastminute.com and various other sites that have been mentioned here all night!

A couple of questons to those of you who have been previously, and thosse of you who are well reasearched...

Looking at going to the holiday club hotel in Saariselkä, mainly because it is half board. However also looking at the self catering apartments in Levi (its cheaper by £400)

Our youngest will be 3 while we are away. Can they can on all the sleigh rides? What about ski school? Unfortunatly oldest is 12, Am I right in thinking we pay adult price for him for most of the excursions?

Any advice would be most welcome at this point.

    Oh decisions decisions!
  • Another question, cash machines - are there any, can I take my debit card and not worry. I am so used to going to Europe and withdrawing money from the cash machines that I hadn't given it a thought until now. Are there cash machines or do I have to take loads of Euro's.

DesG, Aurora didn't take any money off us, Mari @ Aurora confirmed the booking and took our hotel & mobile number by email, we will pay just before the trip commences which is obviously more secure than just giving them cc info.
It was about 255euros (just over £150) for four of us.

We picked the Crazy reindeer hotel in Levi solely on price & availability from Lastminutes special offers so didn't have a choice, it's also half-board !
Have a look on Tripadvisor for reviews and comments on the Saariselkä hotel.

Your three year old will only be allowed on the shorter excursions if you go through Inghams, min 4yrs old, so the super husky & Super Reindeer safaris are out :(. They also won't be allowed in Ski-School as they need to be 5yrs Old, our 4yr old is going to have a couple of private lessons instead about £19 each.
    Levi Kindergarten = 0 – 11yrs Old
    Ski-School = 5 -12yrs Old
    Inghams Only
    Free Ski Hire = 0 -7yrs Old
“Child excursion age is 4-12 yrs inclusive (Visit Santa 4-15 yrs). Children 0-3 yrs are FREE (issued locally) if parents prebook, but not allowed on Snowmobile, Super Husky or Super Reindeer safaris”
    Hope this helps

Have you been to Levi before?

Is the cash machine a proper one, or one of those dodgy fee charging ones?

Also does anyone know if you can pick up a signal from "3 Sweden" in Levi, would take my Three phone then for free roaming and calls.

    Thanks for all the advice!

    Cheers, Des.
  • we went with inghams last year to lapland, we stayed at the crazy reindeer, it was one of the best hoildays we have every had. There was loads for the kids to do. All i would say is if you are booking to go to santa village DONT it cost loads of money and it was just a dome shopping centre.(i thought it was where they drop you off in woods for kids to go and find santa)hahaha. if you want to do that go to imformation centre in levi and book it there. all have a lovely time and dont forget your long johnS you will need them.
  • This has really tempted me, I would like to take my nephew and sister-in-law for a really special treat.
I normally research loads before a holiday but time of of the essence - what is levi like? How does it compare to the other resorts? Will we be able to do one of these 'find santa in the woods' type things?
Thanks in advance for any advice...
