SFD number 14 today, I think. Had a productive day after procrastinating for the first few hours. I’ve sold and posted some eBay items and another sold tonight, this means I’ve almost made enough to pay off the credit card bill and I don’t intend on putting a penny on it next month (unless I bulk buy dog food mid January to save on petrol from two trips).

I’ve also just sorted all the mail and filed it from the past half term. I open and store it daily but filing has to wait until the holidays.

I did a first coat of paint on the woodwork of the new bathroom and the cloakroom (primer done in October half term!) and it looks lovely.

I batch cooked meatballs and sauce and took my own SW lunch to my parents today so I didn’t break my diet eating cheese and biscuits.

Tomorrow will be spendy as I’m meeting friends but I think we’ve agreed to buy food and cook it at my friends rather than going out to eat. I think I need to buy three pizzas from the supermarket so that shouldn’t be too expensive.

Also my mum gave me £100!!!!! She gets a Christmas bonus and said she feels bad that my sisters and I don’t because we’re teachers! So she gave us £100 each to treat ourselves. I’m so grateful and have officially started an emergency fund with it :)

A NSD. Not feeling great. Slept too much and did not want to eat (had lovely blueberry yoghurt). Went to mum's but did not do much. Lots of paperwork to attack.

Today I am grateful for a leisurely day, for a good book to read and for blueberry yoghurt.

How much have you paid off your debt / mortgage this year?

How much have you spent on food / clothes / diy / frivolities?

We all have different ways of classing these, so use your own measure. You don't need to tell us your answers, but it is good to be aware of them for your own information. Knowing these figures helps you realise where you can cut back next year.

I've paid about £4100 off the mortgage, and I think our food spends are about the same! They could be about £1000 -1200 less, but it's the gf/df stuff that whacks it up. And that's just for dd - I don't buy any special gf food for me - I just eat differently (mostly...)

Fmess - that was very nice of your Mum.

DawnW - at least you are organised enough to know where your money went. Congratulations on your grandchild - did she have a boy or a girl?

We did spend money yesterday. Me, DH and DS took the dog for a walk in the woods in the snow in the morning because it was forecast to rain later which it did. Then after lunch we went to the bank to pay the kids Christmas money and their sealed tin money into the bank. Me and DH opened our sealed tin and in the confusion I have forgotten what we had in it now but the money plus some money from ebay sales is going a long way towards a trip we have planned for next year.

We are doing the sealed tins next year for the third year but we are utilising some money boxes we already have and putting a piece of brown tape over the stopper. Those sealed tins/pots are so wasteful.

I also found £6 in old £1 coins in our tin even though I know I didn't put them in - weird, anyway the banks will still let you pay them into your account so nothing lost.

I had almost run out of chocolate Readybrek and that stuff is like hens teeth around here so I had to call at a big Asda to get it (I am slightly addicted to it), got two boxes plus some Child's Farm moisturiser for DD (she has eczema) and nuts for DH. When he finishes these nuts he will have eaten about £10 worth since Christmas - he is now on a ban for his own sake.

She had a little boy, born on 9 December :)
• Although it's stopped snowing the roads and particularly the pavements are around here are treacherous. My neighbour crashed her car yesterday when she skidded on the road just yards from home. Then she got a phone call to say her mother had broken her arm after slipping on the pavement outside her house. I am not going out today either.
What all this staying in has highlighted is that we are buying way too much food even if we do buy it when the price is reduced. No idea what the annual total is, Apple, but it's more than it needs to be. We don't actually waste food as leftovers are frozen but since there are so many leftovers I'm obviously cooking too much. So next year it's changing. Less buying, more portion control.
Today I need to try to get myself a bit more organised. Writing of long lists is called for.
Have a good weekend and keep warm and safe.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.
• Not caught up yet but am going to eldest daughters till Tuesday.

Happy New Year Everyone

NSD 1/3,
My mantra is After I ....I will. eg After I make my morning coffee, I will take my medication. Eventually this will become a habit,
• No snow yesterday, again with all the mass media promises and kids are most annoyed.
Lost a NSD bought a reduced organiser (50p) to get myself sorted for my goals in Jan.
I will have 14 NSDs as a result. I will hit 18 next month.
I've had a bit of a tidy and sort so I've some things to list on ebay, not sure they'll sell at this time of year though. Some books that the girls have grown out of to go to the charity stall. Tried to return DD1's Benefit makeup (Mascara) that's under recall. I don't have the receipt, they weren't willing to take it back. "Oh its perfectly safe to use"
I'll be on the phone to head office first thing Tuesday.Tesco no longer take returns if the label's been removed. Even with the receipt. DD1 thought she was doing the right thing cutting the tags off. Now I have even more reason to lose weight.
I hope you are looking after yourself Kerry Woman.
Congrats DawnW

Today is NSD 13, been up a ladder since 9am. Now I have run out of paint so made doughnuts with DS3 and his new doughnut making machine. He is delighted.

13 out of 15 is not too shoddy. Will do better next month.

Tomorrow I am buying more paint, and might sort out both car insurances so that the money is gone and I can start January on a NSD.

Hugs to KerryWoman

Contratulations to DawnW

Will make supper now and might do some more bannister painting later on, depending how boring my family is tonight.
