WannabeFree said:It was just so badly handled. We went in as an emergency but I did prewarn them that we where arriving and are shielding etc. Yet they weren't ready for us when we got there. Waited 3 hours for them to reach the consultant. Then hours for the meds to be given so we could come home. It cost a fortune getting there and back. Spent the whole night there. When really they could have sent the med with a community nurse to give at home. We wouldn't have been sat on a covid ward. Or had to use a taxi etc.
Anyway it seems to have worked some what and I'm hoping for some better sleep tonight.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

What a horrendous experience, can't believe they put you on a Covid ward that's appalling. Hope that the meds do their job after all that.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

I kind of understand symptoms wise it's a flag for covid. However there should have at least been somewhere in the red zone with barrier nursing etc for these situations. We cant be the only sheilding family that has needed urgent care without covid.
Anyway theres nothing I can do to change it. I feel awful we were in the situation of being exposed but nothing I could do once we where there.
Its just been a ridiculous week. Theres no controlling youngests symptoms and I'm not sure where we will go to next. Everything's just up in the air.
I'm sure it will settle down again. It's just draining finding that balance.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”5 -

Hi WB
Glad you're all back home and didn't have to stay in. Sounds like the hospital needs to sort out the way they process patients though, especially vulnerable ones like DD. Take care. xx

Things are better than they where. We are still far from where it was though.
DS's high-school have cancelled the induction days for everyone. So I'm glad he won't be in the minority of not being able to attend. We had a virtual meeting with them and they've given the uniform list and equipment and things he needs. Its so strict and there's ALOT on there. I don't even know where to start.
We haven't been doing much else just the usual.
Having a real plan for food etc has made such a big difference to us all though. I've lost weight while eating more and more 'real food.
Hope you're all well x
