Afternoon hope you're all well?
I know quite a few who follow are also shielding.
Have you had communication from your health professionals around the latest update and going for a walk? Youngests team called first thing this morning to ensure I do NOT follow the advice and we remain completed shielded.
This just makes it even more confusing? I'm not going to post the exact conversation as obviously its independent to youngest but I just wondered if others had been told yes it's okay to go for a walk or that it isn't and continue to completely shield?

Anyway other than that
We are all okay. Still the usual struggles. Still the up and down of MH and youngests issues. But we are getting on with it like others.
I've not posted much as I dont have much to say. The weather is lovely
We've been doing the usual crafty things. Lots of painting and making things.

Hi Wannabe, we aren't shielding but from what I've read I think as their knowledge of the virus increases and the incidence of it in the community decreases, they are changing their ideas of who's most at risk. Hopefully the texts are going to those who have been reassessed and aren't thought to be as vulnerable any more. I think a lot of the people I know of won't have received texts but I don't know for a fact.
Love to you all x

No we havent recieved a text to say dont shield. The text has been the opposite all along even on friday. But then yesterdays announcement that those shielding can now go for a walk.
Obviously I will continue to listen to her team rather than a blanket you can now go for a walk. It just come as a bit of a surprise.
The consultant said the risk of catching covid is lower. However the risk of death from covid remains the exact same as it was when we were told to shield her and that the risk to her should she catch it hasn't changed. However it does make me feel reassured using the garden safely is now a better option than not doing.
Hope you're keeping well too.“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”5 -
We're fine thanks.
I wonder whether the news about people being allowed to go for a walk is just a journalistic version of 'some people who are shielding can now go for a walk'?

I think it's sensible to listen to the team's advice and keep shielding the youngest small as she's so very vulnerable. There must be a lot of people fall into the same category. At least you'll be able to sit out in the safe garden area you've created.
Good to hear from you, take care xx

Hi WB
I think with the consultant's phone call and your own intuition I'd be inclined to stay inside for now and just use the garden for fresh air. I'm carrying on as normal over the next few days and will watch from the sidelines to see what happens. Good to hear you're all keeping as well as can be expected. xx

However DD's team know her and they know what sort of local case numbers you're getting so their advice is always going to be far more personalised to her situation than anything the government comes out with.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056
Current mortgage amount: £226,957.97

Thank you
Yes we wont be leaving our safe space. The team explained it really well and why they thought we shouldn't risk it. We are lucky. We have each other and will have the garden set up safely. Its understandable something needed to change for those completely alone especially if the plans to extend go ahead.
Everyone's still in bed. It looks like it will be another lovely day. I have some cleaning I want to get on top of and I need to meal plan and things.
Hope you're all safe and well x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”9
