It's good that you know exactly what you've got to do and you've heard it from the horse's mouth. I think a lot of people are sat at home scratching their heads or having to go back to work when they really don't feel it's safe. I look at those tube pictures every morning and thank my lucky stars I'm able to stay home.
I do think there has to be a measure of ownership regarding taking responsibility for ourselves and our families. At the moment if DS was in Y10 I wouldn't be sending him back anyway because I can't fathom out their thinking about some things. At least parents won't have the added stress of being fined or badgered about attendance. xx8 -
No wonder DD’s consultant does not agree with the changes. It is them who will have to pick up the pieces. As for the tube I have no words.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I’m another one who’s sticking to staying home. My work place won’t let us back until all the right measures are in place. Thankfully I can easily do my job from home.Unfortunately there are too many idiots around who will push the rules and spoil things for the rest of us because they think they are invincible. Whenever I go to London I avoid the tube at all costs. The one time I had no choice because the distance wasn’t walkable I was shocked at the amount of people they cram on them. It was awful. You know me I don’t do public transport at the best of times 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Hope everyone is okay.
Popping in to show we are all still alive.
Have done nothing different to usual. Cleaning. More than normal. Ironing. School work. Youngest had a med change which he thrown us into a whirlwind of side effects which I'm hoping settles down quickly. Because 4 hours broken sleep is hard. Even less is harder.
Still meal planning. Still enjoying food choices.
Spending time cleaning the garden so we can hopefully make some use of out there. Still dont really have my head around this being us for the next several months. My own psychiatrist and counsellor isn't doing phone appointments. Struggling with this. Understandably though the nhs is stretched. I cant even consider the risk of going as I have no way to go without the smalls. Theres still a lot of background noise that sometimes the outsider opinion helps rationalise my thoughts and anger towards. It is what it is I guess.
Anyway we are luckier than some and for that I'm grateful.
Hope you're all keeping well x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”11 -
I hope you mean national news as the background noise going on? It seems to me that the government is sort of making up policy as they go along and testing everything in the space of public opinion - so they leak or start talking about something quite extreme, and then when the papers or social media starts to go mad about it they begin to pull it back - so by the time the Minister announces the next big thing we are all already used to the idea.
Personally I try and take refuge in the things I can control - so tidying, cleaning, shopping lists (I have not been anywhere) gardening, monitoring our money and shuffling things around. I think we have a bit less complication than you but I suppose we all have the particular triggers that make us worry, and those that make us cross. My biggest frustration yesterday was trying to talk to my Mother on the phone. I don't know what goes on but sometimes she can hear me and sometimes she can't. Last night she talked over my attempts to say things and then said "don't you want to say anything?" - she just could not hear me at all. Apparently she was wearing her hearing aid - I got quite frustrated but in the overall scheme of things it doesn't matter and I shall speak to her this evening. I should just be grateful she is doing as she needs to and staying in and safe.

Hi WB
Not been on here for a few days. Considering I'm doing nothing very much the time just seems to fly by. Good to hear you're all keeping well and fingers crossed DD settles down with her new medication. The weather is gorgeous here today, I hope you manage to get the garden sorted soon so you can make the most of it.
I can't understand why you're not being offered telephone appointments especially when the powers that be acknowledge people's mental health might be suffering. Fingers crossed some things will be up and running again soon to help you with this. Are you having any adult conversation at all? Kids are great but just talking to mine all day would drive me crackers! Have a lovely day. xx8 -
Thank you sorry for the silence. I had no credit on my phone.
Tea. Some text conversations. That's the only real conversation outside the smalls.
Have spent a lot of time bleaching outside. Removing things that cats etc could come in and climb on etc. We havent been out there yet. It's been so windy!
Still just trying to make it through each day and keep them all occupied. They've spent more time than usual watching my phone. I cant watch the news live but do watch the press conferences on the Gov site or read them. I'm not clever enough to get into the political debates but I think theres a lot to be said about how things are being done and the choices made.
We have been deep in school work. Smalls have crafted lots and we've read more books these last 3 months than the whole of last year I think.
Hope you're all safe and well x“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”10
