I'm sorry to hear things aren't good at school. I don't know how long transfers take but it seems to me that towards the end of the summer term would be the best part of the year to make a change.
Well done on finding some cheaper options on the food shop - you remind me of Jack Monroe with how you conjure food when other people would throw up their hands and say it can't be done. Look at you - freezer full of prepared meals! When the going gets tough, the tough get going, as they say.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you. I have requested to transfer forms for them all. I'm done with current school. It's shocking.
Cherry I actually pinch loads of ideas from Jack. Mainly the older ones from when she first started and Elaine at MFi3 even though she doesn't blog anymore I copied down a lot of her recipe's.
Morning
I didn't get much sleep which isn't helpful.
No appointments today. I do have lots of things I need to chase up though and things that need doing at home. So it will still be busy. However I'm going to fit time in to have a cup of tea and catch up with some diaries
Hope you're all okay and have a lovely day

Sorry to hear about another incident at school, I hope you can get a more constructive school place for them - maybe you wouldn't have to spend so much on 'stuff' too.
It's crazy how long these appeals etc take - it's for people with additional needs, if anything it should be quicker than a normal claim "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Morning W
You've had so much trouble with that school. I hope you find somewhere better for them and, as jwil, says, hopefully somewhere that won't be asking for money for activities all the time.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
So budget time - now it's monthly and I know how much we can comfortably manage on food wise etc.
Outgoing
Rent £480.55
Council Tax £85.40
Water £49.40
Gas/Electric £140
Phone Credit £10
Bus Pass £54
Tv License £12.56
School snack £15
School 'other' £25
Travel £25 (smalls bus fares/trains to appointments etc)
Food/everything else £100
This leaves £13.24 unaccounted for but will be going to the debt for new rent arrears.
Debt
Debt for new rent arrears £480.
I'm pretty confident this covers everything and it's achievable. The school 'other' is the trips/one of things - plus the uniform etc for the new school year can come from here on the months it has a surplus/over the summer holidays. All 3 will need coats/shoes and the girls cardigans and tights.

Have chased up things for youngest. Have cleaned and sorted most of the things I needed to do indoors. I'm just having a cuppa and 10 minutes before doing the ironing and planning something out for the smalls to do after school.
Hope you're all having a lovely day.
It looks like the sun is trying to break through and make an appearance fingers crossed!

Hi Wannabee
I've been following you for ages but never posted before. I am really in awe of how you manage so well in such difficult circumstances, you really are doing a wonderful job and your children are so well loved.
I've looked at your new budget and unless I have missed something, how will you pay for rent arrears and holiday ?
I really hope you have thought of this. Thinking of you.0 -
Thank you louloufox
The holiday is paid for. The travel will be covered with that months travel money and I will just do a normal food shop when we there like I do at home so no extra expense. When we are there we will do the free things that are available so won't be spending any extra.
The rent arrears debt will be paid monthly out of the £13 left over and what I can cut out the food budget etc.
Thank you again for stopping in

When you look at what you're having to pay monthly for school snacks and school others it's an awful lot out of your really tight budget. I hope you'll be able to cut that down when the wee ones go to another school. But, as always, I am in awe of how you manage. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0
