Morning - finally Friday although my smalls are off school today so a long weekend for us.

    Thank you Jwil x

No SL I wasn't recieving full HB because when my circumstances changed that's why the budget had been so tight as no new claims for HB are allowed it would have been UC and I couldn't have managed the switch over. Once it was appealed and reinstated it was still only around £45 a week they where paying as they take the tax credit award before the deductions for the overpayment. I've had advice though there should be a 2 week run on but it hasn't been paid I emailed the housing yesterday and he said he'd send a full breakdown. They also don't pay for the rent free weeks obviously however ive never had rent free weeks because I'd always had arrears so there was another shortfall.

The money I receive on the 25th is paid in arrears. So I'll pay a months rent out of it but then by the next payment I'm a month behind again does that make sense? It doesn't get 'backdated' as it will always be paid a month in arrears.

Back to today. No real plans I don't feel as bad as yesterday. There was more talk on the incident at school and that's lifted some worries and they admitted there had been a misunderstanding. Bit late after a punishment has already been given though isn't it?

The weather is still lovely so I think we will take pack lunches and walk to the country park and have a picnic lunch. Hoping with it being a school day it won't be too busy.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

3 weeks until the summer holidays. The countdown is on.

Today is meal planning day too so I need to fit that in. I'm waiting for some emails back from places for free things to do in the holidays too. We are hoping to help out at the SA feeding station that helps families who receive free school meals so those children get a free lunch in the holidays.

I've looked at the library and I think it's mainly aimed at youngests age there's not really anything all 3 can do so I've emailed them too ;) it's always worth an ask if we can attend with youngest and the older two can read or something.

Im really hoping the weather is nice so we can make use of parks and picnics.

I really need to be thinking of activities at home using what we have too. I'm usually pretty organised with it by now but I'm really not! I found a brilliant blog though for activities that are really quick to set up and use things you'd already have at home. I then found her on Instagram and have been saving ideas. So I just need to make a plan really there's lots of ideas out there.

It's the school summer fayre tomorrow and I volunteered to help out if needed. Smalls will get free popcorn ;) always a benefit :rotfl: Even if I had totally forgot saying we'd help.

We have a pretty quiet week next week on appointments which is a nice break. So keeping everything crossed the sun decides to stay and make us happy for the next few weeks.

Afternoon WB :) Hope you're all enjoying your early start to the weekend. Weather couldn't be better could it.

Hopefully when the DLA is reinstated you'll get a nice lump sum of backdated awards and the rent arrears will be done and dusted well before 4 years.

Is it really only 3 weeks until end of term - I've lost a week somewhere  Good idea to start planning things to do, you're definitely on the ball. :T

Free popcorn sounds a fair exchange for helping out at school. :D Has the conversation made any difference to how you feel about transferring the DC's or do you still prefer to 'get out while you can'.

    Have a lovely day. xx
  • I'm glad school realised they'd made a mistake with DS.

It's good that you've found some ideas for summer holiday activities. I'm sure you'll think of plenty of creative ways to entertain them. You do have to put more thought into free activities, but they are often better I think or just as good as the expensive easy option activities :).

    Morning (Just!), W

It's overcast here and we're expecting rain but it's hot and muggy. Not really pleasant. Hope it's better with you.

What a lovely thing to do. I mean both the SA having the feeding station and you and the wee ones helping out.

You are so resourceful I'm sure you'll find lots of things to do for free and I think it's the getting them out in the fresh air and spending time with them that's important.

    Have a good weekend.

The 2 week run on for HB is usually paid once the UC award is confirmed because so many claims start and never get to first payment for lots of reasons...so they wait just in case they need to continue the claim for HB for longer than the initial start date of UC claim.

    Morning.

Sorry for the silence yesterday. It was a busy one and VERY hot. The summer fayre was a huge success and they raised a good amount for the pta. Smalls had fun too. They where fed lunch and got to join in the games etc. The fire engine turned up and it was a brilliant day and a no spend day :)

Today is already hot too so I think today will be a bit quieter have some cleaning I need to get done and the smalls can play in the garden - no Sunday roast today. I think it might be chicken with salad (quick and easy ;))

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend

I'm glad that everyone had fun and I totally don't blame you for not cooking a roast in this weather!

I think chicken and salad is the way to go. We're on burgers and salad :D
