You have some good plans in place there: pulling the non-essential spending and focussing on helping the children have a good run up to Christmas. I am sure they must love advent every year with so much to occupy them.
I hope both the SA and the panto go well.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Hi W, sorry to hear that you're feeling bad, you have a lot of pressure on you so it's no wonder really.
I hope you enjoy the panto with the kids & that the DLA is sorted out as soon as it can be.
Try not to worry about the presents for the kids, they really don't matter in the grand scheme of things as the others have already said. I think sometimes parents buy lots of presents for the kids but it's more for themselves if you know what I mean.
As in it makes them feel good to do it - and that's fine if you can afford it but mostly kids just want your time and attention. That's what you're giving your kids & they'll always remember that and know how loved they are which is worth more than any amount of presents.

Thank you x
I think I have to accept we need a little help to get through this patch. As embarrassed and bad I feel I have to keep my head on it won't be forever. As soon as it's sorted I can pay it back/forward.
Still makes me feel rubbish though

Don't feel bad Wannabe. There are seasons for everything, and you've already given generously and you know how important it is. This is just your turn to let someone else have the same experience. xI think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

To be honest Wannabe I stand in Awe of you.
In the face of circumstances that would leave most people running for the hills you still manage, somehow, to survive it all. I don't doubt, for one second, that your children benefit enormously from your love and courage, and that it's this they will remember.
Dealing with the problems caused by youngests illness and the emotional turmoil this must create, is, on it's own, a herculean task. Its no wonder that at times your MH is left in tatters. but you still manage to come out from under, and not only carry on, but teach your children the wonderful knowledge that 'giving' is worth much more than receiving :A
I hope that when you go to the SA that you allow someone else to experience the joy of giving, by accepting 'gifts' for the children.
I don't think anyone who reads your diary could possibly think you are a 'moaner' - if anything I'm sure they think, like me, that you are managing extremely well in a nightmare situation, and only wish that we could help more, and I'll never understand in a million years why 'family' , whatever their issues with you, could not send gifts to the children for Christmas.
Just remember that there are people on here who are cheering you on, and sending all the good wishes there are. (((hugs))) XXI Believe.....

Morning
Bet the little ones are super excited for the panto aren't they.
Don't feel embarrassed about going to the SA, places like this are there to help people through a sticky patch until they can get back on their feet again. I find it admirable that you're going when you obviously really don't want to and it shows how strong you are and how much you put the children first.
Hope you manage to put everything to the back of your mind for a couple of hours this afternoon. x0 -
Morning,
Thank you for all your replies
Today I dust myself off and carry on. Smalls are looking forward to the panto. I stayed up and did make some basic biscuits to take and enough for lunches in the week.
I have wrote myself a list of things I need to get sorted before we leave for the panto, then a list for when we get back. I think lists will be a common theme these next few days.
There is some lovely people around and for that I am very grateful :A
We have electric and the bills are paid for another week. I have meal planned and we just need some bits. Bread/milk/juice/potatoes and eggs. I will get this when the PA money finally comes in.
I have replied to an offer of a free tree on FB and a neighbour has said she's sure she has one. I think she's seen my wanted post on FB.
DD is dying to watch the Grinch and it's on TV this afternoon. I might do dinner as a picnic on the living room floor so we can watch it together.
I need to get moving onto my list of jobs so we can be ready to leave for the Panto
Thank you again for everything :A
Have a lovely day

Morning WF,
Ive just read back the last few pages and I just wanted to say keep going.
You must accept the help from certain places if its there. You always give when you can and its time to take some help back.
I hope you guys enjoy the panto today xxMummytogirls x0 -
Thank you MTG. I'm still here drinking tea when really I should be doing something useful. I'm not sure what though! The smalls are all ready to go and are watching another film (sounds like we are having way too much TV time but the weather has been awful and we are making the most of it before its gone
)
The cleaning is mainly done, waiting for the last load of washing to finish.
