£45  I really can't get my head around a school asking for that amount of money and I see there's still more to go their way. It's daylight robbery.

I can't remember paying to go and see Nativity plays and the Christmas grotto was £1.50 when DS left a couple of years ago. Does the money raised go towards something for the children? I was on the PTA and we used the money to sub school trips and everybody got a discount off the price of the pantomime they all went to. It differed every year depending on what was raised but the point was it went back to the children and parents in some way or other.

Glad DD was well enough for school today. Hope she stays that way so she can enjoy all the fun things that are happening.

    Enjoy your cuppa :)
  • Does that mean school weren’t helpful with reducing costs etc? Xx

Not at all Lucky they actually made me feel awful :o Apparently because the trip is 'fun' not really educational then it's optional. Basically don't pay - don't go.

Teafor2 as they are an academy they don't receive as much state funding. So they seem to want money every week from parents to cover things. Most things I really don't mind like snack etc or like this morning towards the craft items etc. I just think sometimes it's a bit much all at once.

This morning was lovely. It was well worth the £2. We made quite a lot of crafty things and as you had to pay to stay and play not many did so we really got to enjoy everything.

I don't really have anything else to say. Other than the £2 to school today was a NSD.

It's terrible that school made you feel bad for asking about the money. I can't understand the lack of compassion and understanding shown to people these days. Your craft session sounds really nice though. I bet DD was super excited to have you in school doing something with her :)

I would have asked school anyway lucky, or I'd have explained I couldn't afford it all in one go. At least asking made them aware it's a struggle for some of us and I wasn't the only one in the office saying the same thing.

Not yet Beanie, I tried to call today but who I needed to speak to wasn't available. Going to try again tomorrow :o
