    Not me...Natty and Ionafan xx:D

Whoops - sorry Iona (and Valli!) :o

Been for a sort of jog this morning. Luckily we met lots of dogs that needed saying hello to, so it wasn't too onerous - but a bit parky to say the least. Flying today is likely to be limited to the thrown out dead flowers and the never ending picking up stuff that is in my way. Because we're going out for a Sunday lunch curry. That's perfectly normal, right??

ETA - thank you, Natty, I got the PM. X

*Healing vibes* Dizzy. I hope the rain eases up so the whips can be shoved in the ground. At least they won't need much watering afterwards.

Shower room polished ready for an arrival later, both letting rooms are sparkly and the stairs and passage has been finished too.
    Kitchen floor swept and swabbed.

Freezer sort this morning, so there are big roasting tins of veggies in the oven and some stock defrosting to turn into huge vats of lightly spiced veggie soup. I'll shove a chocolate fudge cake in later, too, as the mix is already five months out of date and it'll either work or it'll go straight from the oven into the bin. Either way, it's out of the cupboard. The more I do of this taking back control of the gibblefest I have created the quicker and easier it gets.
    Better is good enough.
  • He's just getting dressed now.

    Is this really 'first thing'?

He is still cleaning the kitchen when we get back. I have found a place in town that has tool belts on sale - I desperately need one for work - and he's admitted that he can't find any socks without holes in them; yes, I know, I've been complaining about that for months (we are the same size and 'female' socks are awful/more expensive than 'male' multipacks/have fewer in a pack for the same price, so don't bother having separate pairs of socks, as we'll only end up nicking them from each other anyway) - so there's going to be a bit of suffering involved over and above that which is inherent in going into town and dealing with People (ugh!).

Bed is made, WM is on.

The sooner we're out, the sooner I can be back drinking tea.

GWS vibes to Dizzy (and power to your elbow - 100 trees

Got home half an hour ago, having made another visit to the freezing shop in order to get maximum bonus ( you may remember that DH forgot to swipe my card when I asked him to go there). Our freezers are now packed full.

DH greeted me with the news that he left his rucksack at the NEC yesterday. He is a t***p. Why didn't he go straightaway when he realised, Instead of waiting an hour for me to come in? If he'd left me a note, I can read! I have kindly cooked an omelette and fed him before shoving him out of the door.

Will take Rosie out for a run in the woods and on the field, then get my head down to the essay again...
  • I agree totally with you about Stuff making you feel worse, Piggers - I call it Visual Noise; the stuff is shouting at you constantly, you have to pay attention to it to avoid falling over it, you can't move freely, you can't let your eyes relax, it collects dust and cat fur and you can't breathe when the walls are closing in on you.

If I had my way, the house would be American Psycho levels of cleanliness and organisation, just as it was before Himself moved in. If I were the one generally at home all day every day, it would be vacuumed more than once in a Blue Moon, I'd have a decent steam cleaner since my old one gave up the ghost (and the steam mop was a complete waste of money, failing within six months), stuff would be ironed and everything would be put away out of sight.

Even he is more relaxed when the place is clean - although a large part of that is quite possibly because he isn't worried about the likelihood of one of my explosive reactions to not being able to move freely around - they normally start with my having bashed my shins several times and then tripping over something for the third time - the first time he knows about it is when I swear profusely and something is hoyed across the room with an angry boot, then the music goes on at earbleeding level and things start being slammed into sinks, bins, cupboards and down the stairs.

Been shopping with my mate in town. Before I went, though I washed up and portioned out the SW soup I made and labelled and froze it, so I now have 2 curries and 4 soups in the freezer, plus one potted up for work tomorrow. Bought two jumpers from Primani - and looked at xmas jumpers. All non-midget sized ladies xmas jumpers are sold out so I might buy a mans...
I also cleaned out the bunny hutch.

    And I have flung
the broken clock (been on the wall not working for over a year).
In the week I flung the little radio/CD/cassette player I scrounged off DD because it won't play CDs.

  • Afternoon all,

Iona - my DH is driving me mad this weekend, must be something in the air. Congrats on your raffle wins x

Piggers - hope today has been easier that you expected x
Dizzy - hope the lurgy disappears very quickly x

DH was a grumpy s0d all morning, then declared he has a tummy ache and has been quiet all afternoon. I suggested we have an easy freezer tea rather than planned Sunday dinner, but no he's making a Sunday dinner that he won't eat, nor will DS. Whilst looking grumpy. Men

Roll on tomorrow when they're all out of the house! I've given up tidying it's like shovelling snow whilst it's still snowing. Kids in bath as I type, I just knew I wouldn't have the energy to bath them after dinner so early one for them!

    Our tree is up :xmastree:

ATB.. no, today is horrific too... I just want to cry like a baby.. OH is at work until 7pm, the girls are being vile, nothing has got done, I need to do dinner and it is all I can do to not just walk out and leave them all to it.

I am starting to wonder if it is me with a big black dog visit, or if it is them... Squeak is continuously making stupid noises, monologueing her life and is now tormenting the baby and the cat.. the cat will just bite her though. Dot is eating her clothes.

Did I ever mention that I hate shopping and I hate people and, put together, I hate them both even more?

Approaching town, I could see the crowds and a full on altercation between the local beggars/street drinkers where a Paramedic had been called to deal with one of them and they'd all kicked off, so very sensibly, the Paramedics had hopped back inside the ambulance and locked the doors. After that, everything in the shops we needed to go to had been moved in favour of more Xmas tat, people were just wandering aimlessly about, one woman literally walked into me from behind because she had zero awareness of her surroundings - I hadn't changed my walking speed (which was 'I don't want to be here for more than the absolute minimum number of seconds' pace), but she just barrelled into me and only muttered sorry when I stopped dead and looked at her.

By the time we had to go into Chavmark for socks, I had to give Himself my bank card and go and wait outside.

When he came out, I informed him we were going to the pub. One pint later and I felt prepared to evade the remaining beggars who hadn't been picked up by the local constabulary - one still tried the 'Scuse me...', but I gave him my best 'Do not test me, child' glare as refined at work and he changed his mind. The others could obviously sense my ****-right-off aura and didn't even approach us.

It's much nicer here. He's just put the heating on and clattering noises with a feline chorus of 'we haven't been fed ever before in our lives' are coming from the kitchen whilst I nurse a cuppa and a salted caramel cookie.
