Hi there LA, feeling much better about it today. Had a major panic about it all last week but I've managed to balance transfer them all onto the Mint card(that's the one with the lowest APR) and I actually owe £1132.00, that is as well as the Asda Card mind. I was expecting about £1000 back from the bonds but I'm actually getting nearly £1800 so I'll be able to clear both cards. Feel much more relieved about it all now.

Just been reading your thread. I've had chip shop chips today as well, and that's my only spend. Have spent the majority of the day cleaning, washing and catching up on here!!!

I think we have had identical days! Mmmmm though - chip shops chips! When you don't at them very often they are *such* a delicious treat aren't they?

I am so glad you are feeling better about things and as you are getting more back for the bonds than you though that is excellent news too.

Very soon your new chapter will begin and I am sure it's going to be very positive. :)

Hi there Diz great to hear from you. Have managed to shuffle a few things around and the bad news is that in total I've run up £1,250 as well as the Asda Card!I'm expecting a good £800 more than I originally thoght so hopefully when all the money comes in I'll be debt-free again!!!!

Oh heck...we must be on the same level. I ordered a natwest card from greasypalm because you got £10. And despite me saying I was cutting it up I've spent on it!!! I daren't even look how much at the moment, must be over £200! I'll just have to throw some of the money I save now the loans paid off on that. It's so hard being good isn't it hun...
That's lovely that your romance is still blossoming...great to have something nice happening. Mind you I'm useless at romance. It's our 18th wedding anniversary today and I totally forgot. I have been off work for two weeks with a chest infection though. Anyway hubby bought me gifts from himself and the children, they all trooped in the bedroom this morning and I just thought 'Oh no' what could I say, I have a memory like a sieve...good job he's used to me though :D
You and me Girly we'll be debt free one day...and happy romancing :D

Took a jacket back this morning that I bought in Spetember and that I haven't worn. Couldn't have needed it!! Another £30 off the Asda card.

Hi GirlRacer - wow, you're doing well. It seems its all about focus, doesn't it? Good for you for finding the jacket. I've got serious chip envy now, tho.

In relation to the savings, I'm sure Martin's opinion would be that long term savings when you've got debt that you're paying interest on are really inefficient - you're approaching it the mse way by cashing the savings in, and I'm glad they've done better than you thought.

As for me, I think I have to go post some letters before the midday Sunday post goes. The fact that there's a chippy right by the postbox is neither here nor there, honestly.......

Well done for taking the jacket back! Should you be treating yourself to another jacket but this time from the charity shop?;)
Re chips, last night I was lucky enough to be at a very posh party, marquee, live band, champers etc etc. And the pre-dinner nibbles included mini-packets of gorgeous chip shop chips! That's the kind of party I'd like to be able to afford to throw.....

I am absolutely seething today. Have received a cheque from the Halifax for mortgage exit fees made payable to Mr and Mrs. The cheque is for £35 but they'll only issue me with £17.50 because the mortgage was in joint names when it was paid off. Even though when the mortgage was paid off it was by me having a mortgage in my sole name. I am so angry. I've got to phone back tomorrow and speak to a manager. :(
