Thanks Lenny, CC's = Credit Cards. I froze them to stop me using them but soon realised that by pouring hot water over them they still worked!!!!!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi Girlracer :hello:
Dont waste time kicking yourself the main thing is now you are back on track! and you're getting your momentum going! which is great!
I have to look into these mortgage exit fees?!?!:j Where there is a will there is a way - there is a way and I will find it :j0 -
Hello there do it today. Its woth a go. I've had my mortgage with 3 different companies over the last few years so I'm going to phone the other two companies tomorrow. £35 isn't a great deal but it all helps.0

You're not the first and you won't be the last to fall off the wagon. Just pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get out there and kick those cc's into touch. I'm sure you learnt loads of useful things last time and you just need to get into the swing of things again. Good Luck.Making my money go further with MSE :j
How much can I save in 2012 challenge
75/1200 :eek:0 -
Hi there GR! HELLLOOO! Missed you!
Good to see you back - but not cos you've run up a card...oh b*gger, you know what I mean don't you???
Right now lady, I think you've made a really excellent start on clearing this card and if BF finds out you owe less then £500 on a card he's hardly likely to skedaddle!
You're going to clear this card - and soon.
What you need to focus on too...is putting things in place to stop it happening again.....so, another little project for you to work on.
Look forward to hearing what those ideas could be......:DBank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Hey chick how's it going. This is only the first card I'm trying to clear. Too ashamed to tell you about the others..... So I thought I'd deal with one at a time!
Have been looking through all my paperwork and the only direct debit I can cut back on is the savings fund for the children. Its one of those family assurance things. Between the two policies i've got about £1400 which would clear another card. What do you reckon? Do I cash them in save me £20 per month and pay off a card or persevere with the savings plan.
Oh God, how have I got myself back to this???0 -
Hey GR, you aren't the first and you unfortunately won't be the last to slip back in.
Take two time and then make sure you have a rough plan for debt free life. Think about what triggered it again, and try to stop that happening again.
Nice to have you back around thoughNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Thanks Gemmzie, I've made a list of things to do this week and they include
- cashing in kids bonds
- cancelling dd for the bonds
- check with talk talk to see if I'm entitled to free broadband yet
- contact birmingham midshires about mortgage exit fee from 3 years ago
- contact beneficial sterling about mortgage exit fee
- cancel my HSA membership
This will hopefully save me £43 per month in direct debits and maybe even get me some fees back. The money from the bonds will pay off the majority of my Next account!!!0 -
Gr one thing i must add is when you cash in the bonds dont feel guilty ~ yes it was the childrens savings but i bet of you asked the children would they rather have savings (which you can replace) or a happy mummy/daddy... i think i am 100% sure what they would chosse.
Ok that doesnt sound too good but basically i am trying to say you are back on track now and even if you have to do things you may be upset by this is the beggining of your new life, once yor debt free again you can save as much as you like
*exits the stage sharpish ~ my posts today are rubbish*0
