I am in stitches literally. I can't believe how we have been reading the same book!!! As for your sister, that was close. I can imagine how angry you were considering what you've been through. Your sister is a lucky lucky girl to have a sis like you. Just chilling out too. Listening to music videos drives my OH mad! lol

I am so angry, my sister has only gone and applied for a massive loan (£15,000) with Advantage Loans - my advice stay away from them. She was told that she was accepted on Monday and has to pay £50. She's had the paperwork through today and the loan is for £3000, has a whopping 45% APR and she needs a guarantor. I can't believe how dull some people can be.

I've just put an email together for her demanding the repayment of the £50 and cc'd the e-mail to the MD. I always google sites before I use them and can't believe that she doesn't do the same.

This company has well and truly done her a favour, she's going to have some strict MSE lessons from e starting tonight.

Oops...looks like there's going to be one sister with her bottom well and truly kicked tomorrow...

I can't believe that she's been so stupid. Thought I was the stupid one. Never mind. I've calmed down now and will hopefully get her money back.

I'm stuck here downloading rubbishy songs onto ds phone. I've got nothing better to do of course.

Well now you know different. You're the clever one with all the tips, tricks and techniques to sort her out.

How many times do you think she'll fall off the wagon?

Oh probably a few more, maybe she'll never get her lightbulb moment. I'm only the clever one because I listened to you lot and reclaimed by bank charges back before the court case. That got me back on my feet and gave me the incentive to get my finances sorted.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could claim back charges for longer than 6 years, I'm sure there'll be a few millionnaires on here - me being one!!!

Don't let me hear you say anything like that again GR. Just think of all the resources, time, effort and savvy needed to get 'debt free' which you have done and now you're saving like a good 'un. So I'll hear no more of that talk from you. Ok??!!

OK Diz. Going back to the books, have you read all of the shopaholic books? I took them on holidays last year and was reading about one book per day, I just couldn't put them down. I am so like Becky - lots of crazy egg-headed ideas that never see to work out for me. Can't wait for more of those books to be written. I used to be such a bookworm but since finding this site I don't seem to have the time to read as much now.

How sad am I getting, actually can't wait to go shopping this week to see how much food I can get for such little money.

I know what you mean about the weather Diz, it is getting lighter when I leave work now but still not quite warm enough to sit out. Doesn't stop us having a little sip of wine though - can do that whatever the weather is!
  • Hello GR
I've read one other of the shopaholic ones it was shopaholic and sister. Was again very funny. I also love Ruth Rendell books including the Inspector Wexford ones. Adam and Eve Pinch Me was very good. I love the way she gets into the minds of the 'strange'.
I also enjoy James Herbert but have to be in the mood for those. The Magic Cottage was a good one.
I've read a few Maeve Binchy but that was a while ago. I love the ones set in rural idylls where theres always gossip and subterfuge. At the moment I'm definately into the chick lit laugh out loud ones though.
Have read all my stack from the library so must pop in tomorrow and get some more. Sometimes I can go in and see loads I fancy then other times it takes ages for any to grab me.
Getting the shopping bill down does become a challenge but a good one rather than the pain it used to be. Hope you get some bargains.:D

Good morning all, especially my diary buddies ZTD, Diz and Racer, hope you all had an enjoyable evening. Well it's tax credits day tomorrow and I've still got £10 left from last weeks.

No packed lunch today, on a Thursday and Friday I meet up with my girly friends for lunch. It usually costs a whopping £2 for a hot meal and something to drink. Roll on staff canteen!

I've still not had the paying-in book so the cheque from Mazuma is still in my bag waiting to be paid in. I'm starting to get impatient now, how long does it take for banks to send out new stationery?

Got no major money plans today just trying not to spend.

Hope you all have a good day. GRx

Hi GR, one tip is to take your own coffee in a Starbucks cup (if you have one) makes you look posh lol. As for the payng in book take the cheque to the bank and they will pay it in. Explain that you've waited ages for a book to arrive. Have a good day.
